Should I Use A Microsoft Surface Hdmi Cable Instead Of An Off Brand

Should I buy a Microsoft Surface Book or Surface Pro?

The primary purpose for the slate form factor is stylus interaction. So, if your primary use case is to hold the device and write on it while standing up then you’ll want to go with the Surface Pro.For everything else you’ve listed — except for the “light yet versatile” — the Surface Book is the clear choice. Especially on the gaming and programming items. The beauty of its design is that it’s everything the Surface Pro is PLUS a proper laptop. If your primary mode of entry is a physical keyboard then you’re really going to want the Book.Another “pro” is that the Surface Book isn’t all that heavy. When I’m only carrying my “personal rig” I usually have:- Surface Book and its Power Adapter- Sculpt Desktop Mouse and Keyboard- Lifepower A2 Portable Outlet- External HD- HDMI cable, USB-C cable, Wireless Display Adapter- Surface VGA, HDMI, and Ethernet dongles- Business cards, pen and pencilI’m guessing that the total weight of all this is probably about 6 lbs. All of this goes nicely and neatly into a soft briefcase-type bag that perfect fits the Surface Book dimensions and is about 3 inches deep.

Surface Pro 2 USB 3.0 Display?

I'm thinking of possibly replacing my desktop computer with the Microsoft Surface Pro 2 in the future. So while at home I would want to connect it to my monitor and peripheral setup. The Plugable UD-3000 will have everything I will need including a USB 3 to DVI adapter. I'm not a big gamer but I still do want to play some mid-range games. I read in review that the USB display performs fine in normal use and video watching but not recommend for playing games. I could not find much information on this subject so I would really appreciate if anyone can shed some light on how this would compare to a dedicated video output port.

Why does my micro HDMI to VGA cable keep breaking?

Sounds like bad luck to me. There is no reason to think that whether you come from micro HDMI or regular HDMI would make any difference with respect to reliability. The only argument I could make in favor of those with regular full sized plugs is that they make more of them that way, so there has been more of a chance to work the bugs out. (Not a very persuasive argument.)BTW - It would be better to refer to these devices as adapters as opposed to cables. Unlike true cables, they include active components, in this case to convert from digital to analog.I see a lot brand names which I do not recognize in this market. I’d feel better about one like the following one from Microsoft: ORIGINAL Microsoft Micro HDMI to VGA Adapter for Microsoft Surface and Surface 2 | eBay (I’m not recommending the vendor, just the product; and that recommendation is not based on any personal experience with it. Just what I would choose.)

How can I use a dual monitor on a Surface 3? I have a monitor, a mini DP to HDMI cable, and a Surface 3.

As Rishad has stated, you can for sure Duplicate or Extend to the external monitor as long as:Yours is a Surface 3 Pro with at least an i3 processorThe resolution you want to run on your external monitor is 1920x1200 (at 60hz) or lower. Also, you should be able to run higher resolutions and/or refresh frequencies if you have one of the more robust Surface 3 Pro configurations (i.e. i5 or i7 processor). This article[1] explains the make, processor, resolution and refresh frequency combinations in more detail.Good Luck!Footnotes[1] How Many External Monitors Can I Daisy Chain To A Surface? - Love My Surface

Can I use an HDMI splitter to extend, not duplicate, my laptop screen across two monitors?

I disagree with all other answers. It is not only possible but it is normal.A simple HDMI splitter can in fact extend desktop to two different monitors. In fact I have a splitter bought for like £2 which does the job.I have DVI to HDMI cable going from this to my 46″ Samsung C750 as a monitor and a 15m HDMI cable going along the wall over the sealing to my PRM-25 video projector. They are both connected to a single DVI port via splitter. They both have different resolutions and they can be run at different frequencies. For example I have watched a movie at 24fps on projector to match the frame rate for smoother playback.I have set up VLC to display full screen to 2nd monitor so whenever I double click a playing movie window, it goes full screen on projector. They show up both correctly on Windows and Mac.My videocard is Zotac NVidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2047 and it acts exactly the same as my old Palit NVidia GeForce GTX 460 768.No problem whatsoever. Plug and play. As if it was physically connected to another port on actual video card.It all depends on bandwidth. You can hook up as many monitors as you like as long as the combined bandwidth does not exceed the total available. There is a way how to reduce the bandwidth of each screen noticeably by turning off overscan which is black margin around the image sent to monitor as extra unnecessary data. You might have to create a custom resolution for that though.

How do I use a laptop as a monitor for a Xbox One or any console without having a TV?

If your laptop is running Windows 10 if you search in the store there is an Xbox app you can then sign into the Xbox one app and stream your Xbox one onto the laptop. When you do this you need to plug your controllers into the laptop either by USB or Bluetooth instead of the Xbox One. The streaming service uses the power of the Xbox one and passes the image from the console to the PC via your network. You do need both the Xbox one and laptop on the same networkhttps://support.xbox.com/en-GB/g...

Is there any way that a laptop can get an HDMI input?

Does your laptop have that input already? Is there a space for one in the case (hole/covered hole). If not probably no as laptops aren’t generally as customisable as a PC due to their compact form. My laptop has that port luckily.
