When should you wear a knee brace?
Why brace? What is its function?Brace helps to support your joint. It also helps in weight transfer i.e. some of weight will be transfered through your brace plates which helps your joint as it has to take lesser weight load.You should wear brace when you need more stability or your ligaments are injured. Even in o.a. it helps by taking joint load so that few of your body weight gets transfered through brace so joint has lesser compressive force during weight bearing.
Is it dumb to wear a knee brace over your pants?
I dislocated my knee yesterday. How many weeks should I wear a knee brace after ACL reconstruction?
Varies actually from Surgeon to Surgeon n patients to patients..I usually keep for only two weeks in pts with isolated acl tearThanx

wearing a knee brace to prevent further knee problems in the future is definitely more important than immature little kids thinking you're wearing it for attention. wear it to school & be safe about your knee so you don't injure it anymore. hope it gets better soon !

I'm afraid it'll look weird. Do people know it's normal? If I put it under it will create a bulge but it looks sort of strange if I put it over. What should I do? Is putting it over fine?

How would I wear skinny jeans and a knee brace?
I think wear the skinny jeans UNDER the brace. With any boot it always looks better when your pants are tucked in. It will make the brace more noticeable but it will look better then people thinking you have one huge calf.
