Show Me How To Determine The Forces For This Engineering Question Preparation For Exam

How does one prepare for the CDS examination?

HiA little introduction:I have cleared CDS exam thrice. In first attempt at SSB I reached the conference stage but unfortunately I could not make it to the final list.In second attempt at SSB I was screened out.Information about the exam:There are three exams each of 2 hours. All the three exams are conducted on the same day.You have to prepare three subjects i.e. English, General Knowledge and Mathematics. There are 120 questions of English, 120 questions of G.K. and 100 questions of Mathematics. If your service choice is OTA then you don’t have to give the Mathematics exams.Books I used to prepare for the exam:Englishvocabulary- Norman LewisEnglish Grammar- S.P. BakshiGeneral KnowledgeLucentGeneral Studies Manual by Arihant Publications.Current Affairs from Internet.Mathematics1.Quantum CAT by sarvesh kumar vermaThe Strategy I used during the exam:English is the most scoring subject. I avoided all the error finding questions because they are biggest contributor to negative marking.English exam is easy in comparison to GK and Mathematics.I was able to score around 75 marks in English. I needed only 20 more marks to clear the cut off for OTA.For IMA you need around 120 marks. In Mathematics exam I was able to solve only 33 questions. No negative marks. In General knowledge I was able to solve only 60 questions.Overall I got 135 marks. I gave interview for IMAFor further assistance you can message me.Happy to help.Disclaimer: This strategy worked for me. It may or may not work for you.Thanks.Please watch the video here

Questions about the AFOQT (Air Force Officer Qualifying Test)...?

Here goes...I am 27 years old, have only 6-7 months until I am too old to Enlist in the Air Force. But...I have a BS in Criminal Justice and an M.B.A. / HR Management. So, I figure, why not take my time (I have until I am 35 years old) and study for the AFOQT, then go in the Air Force as an O-1. I know I need some studying, because I was never too good at the SAT, and I hear the AFOQT is a more advanced SAT. So, here is my question...

1. I live in Jacksonville, FL, is there any tutors for the AFOQT or ASVAB that would help me prepare for the test? (NOTE: I want to take at least 2-3 months to study, so I do well my first time). I know you can only take this test 2 times in a lifetime.

2. What is a good score on the AFOQT, if I have no prior Military experience and I want the job of 'HealthCare Administrator/Management?' Are there certain areas I should concentrate on more than others on the AFOQT for this type of job?

3. Do you think it is a good backup plan to still take the ASVAB and go Enlisted possibly before I turn 28 in 6-7 months, then become an Officer from the Enlisted side?

4. How difficult does everyone think the AFOQT or ASVAB is?

Thanks again, I appreciate your time in reading this...

How did you get through engineering school?

The best tip someone told me was to think of engineering as if you are learning a language. For example here's a sentence about inductors I grabbed off wikipedia,

" A change in the inductor current creates a change in magnetic flux that, in turn, generates an electromotive force (EMF) acting to oppose this change in current."

As a first year engineering student I'd be thinking "Seriously? WTF did I just read?"

Nobody without experience can really understand this stuff immediately. And a lot of professors forget that too and talk that way. No wonder people can't follow lectures, it sounds like a foreign language.

Don't think of it as learning engineering, think about it as translating. As you learn different concepts, you'll find all the sudden you know new "words" that you don't have to translate. Also, as with learning a language, learning things by rote does actually help. Practice, practice, practice. One day it'll click and suddenly you're talking nerd.
