Double Deluxe comes with a horrible DRM called Securom, which you might have heard of. Often DVD drives can't read discs with Securom installed. The disk appears as blank media. I think this is your problem.

Your choices:

Get a newer DVD drive (expensive) and also no guarantee you will not have the same problem.

Take the game back again, demand a full refund and write a nasty letter to EA telling them their DRM sucks

The sims 2 double deluxe donus disk help?

Im not sure what you got with your Double Deluxe but mine came with 2 discs.

The first disc is the game and the expansions and stuff pack (Celebration stuff and Nightlife expansion) which you install on your PC. The bonus disc is just a DVD with game play hints and tips, I threw mine away :)

In the sims 2 double deluxe is there a way you can have twins?

You can eat cheesecake! Have a sim with 8 cooking skills make cheesecake, and get the pregnant sim to eat it. They must be already pregnant.
OR, once your sim is pregnant, hold down Control, Shift and C and a little white box should appear at the top of the screen. Here, type 'forcetwins' without talking marks, and you will have twin babies!! Good Luck

I just bought the sims 2 double deluxe game today and when I go to install it, I find out there is no booklet in the case! SO I dont have the installation code. What can I do?

First, you need to install RAR file to unzip the the files. You also need to create a download folder in my documents, ea game, sims 2 if it's not there already.

Here is the link to install RAR, it's completely free.

To install WinRAR, download the file to your computer by clicking on the link on the WinRAR site's download page. Once it has finished, double-click on the file to run the installer. You should just be able to click next, next, next, etc. to install WinRAR. At the end, click Finish to complete the installation.

You will most likely want the top link to the Graphic and Command Line, Trial version.

Once you have this, then you will need to make sure you download the mesh of the item first. The creator will let you know if the mesh is needed (they will most likely include it in the download or attach a link to it)

Click the icon to download the object, it will come up with a box asking to save or open. Click "Open" then it RAR will appear, click "extract item", on the right side of the box will appear files, click "my documents" then click "EA Games" then click "sims 2" then click "download" then OK.

In your game you may have to enable custom content. (not sure what sims 2 game you have) if that's not clicked, once you do enable custom content, back out of your game and re-start it.

sorted it.... had to get a code of a forum... apparently the wrong booklet is in the box...the game i bought was The Sims 2 Double Deluxe and the booklet was for The Sims 2 Deluxe... anyhow its working now.... =)
