Wealthy single parent (man or woman) vs two poor parents: Which would be the better parents? Why?
I agree with most of the posts that it boils down to parenting skills. The only thing I would mention is that it's very easy to diss single women as parents - except of course when the situation is that her husband has died. so, there seems to be a stigma on the single female parent. (and none of the "bread winner" benefits). single women are also very good at teaching the value of money (in contrast to what that other poster said) - as can be attested by the small salaries many single moms have while raising kids. my sister raised 2 on a meager salary (no child support) & both turned out fine. i marvel at the budgeting skills of most single moms. i think single dads are just as capable of raising kids, too. both genders bring value to child rearing. i would add that although it's great to have both parents - it can be a living nightmare to have 2 parents that argue or fight. so, altho 2 can be better than one, it depends on their relationship skills as well as their parenting skills ~
Will selling Avon disqualify me from current unemployment benefits?
You have to report it to unemployment, but it's not likely to make you enough to cancel your benefits - might reduce them a little, but maybe not even that. Your friend is wrong though that it has no unemployment effect because you don't get a paycheck. Self employment counts and must be reported when you're getting unemployment. But if the amount is very small it probably won't change anything much if at all. Good luck
How to convince my parents to let me get double ear piercings?
Convincing you parents will be very easy if they will be open minded to observation. Each day I see more women with multiple pierced ears than singles. This includes preschoolers to seniors, non-professionals to professionals, daughters to grandmothers. Ear piercing is not a "trashy" ( I don't like the word.) look. It is simply a style that allows you to accessorize in an appealing manner. I am sure your parents have your best interests in mind, but ask them to look around and they will see your request is far from an action that will create grief for you in any manner. I hope you can come to a common and fair decision.
