So My Acer Aspire V5 471 Wont Start Up

My Acer Aspire E1-532 won't turn on!!?

So, when my laptop is plugged into it's charging cable the little blue charge light is on.
When I press the power button, there is absolutely no noise, and the little blue power light stays on for about 5 seconds then goes away...
I've taken out the battery on the bottom, held the power button for 10 seconds then put the battery back in, then pressed power again but it doesn't work.

It was working last night!!
This laptop is brand new. I got it about 2 months ago... new, not used.

Please help :(

Acer aspire v5-571 won't turn on.?

Try entering the BIOS to see if that works. Press the power button and then F12. If it goes into the BIOS your half way home.

Be warned. Windows 8 puter that have the new UEFI BIOS are very fast when starting the boot process. You have to be superman fast when pressing any of the function keys. Good Luck

If you can get into the BIOS see if the hard drive is showing up. If so, follow the instruction below.

It sounds like the OS is corrupted or your hard drive is going bad. If you have a system repair CD or a Windows install DVD, boot from the DVD/CD and run repair from it. You will have to access the boot device options in the BIOS to make it boot from the DVD/CD. If you do not have a system repair CD you can make one from a puter that has the same OS as yours. If that does not fix it then your probably going to have to reload your OS to get back up and running. You will need to recover your data and files before doing that. Go to the link below and read on how to download and use a Linux Live CD to boot the system to recover what you want. If you have a Windows 8 puter then you need to turn off secure boot before using the CD. The Live CD will also allow you to check out the rest of the puter.

Once you have recovered what you need you can reload your OS. When you press the power button start tapping the F12 key and the BIOS menu will open. Select diagnostics if you have one and see if it will test the hard drive to find any errors. After running diagnostics and if no errors are found, select the recovery mode. This will reset your puter back to factory settings.

Many members of the Acer Aspire series, such as the V5, are too thin for an Ethernet port and instead use a proprietary connector. That port on the side near the HDMI port and it provides Ethernet and VGA through a special adapter. The adapter comes with the laptop, but many people end up misplacing it or forgetting to provide it when selling the unit to someone. My Aspire uses the LAN/VGA Combo Port Cable (Part # AK.LAVGCA.001)Newer units may have a MiniCP port instead, which uses the Acer Converter Cable (Mini CP to VGA/LAN/USB) (Part # NP.OTH11.00C)

Is Acer Aspire v5 a Good Laptop?

I am looking to buy a new laptop, I currently have the Dell Latitude D830. I've downloaded a bunch of unwanted stuff, and broken a few keys, so I wanted something faster and newer than this run down Pc. I found the Acer Aspire v5 touch screen notebook and I really liked it. But I wanted to make sure it ran well... When using my laptop I am constantly in multiple browsers and I always have multiple tabs open, and I need my new laptop to not be laggy or slow, Like my current laptop is. So is the Acer v5 fast? With no lag? Also, I play a game called Imvu, and I also play Sims 2 and Sims 3. Would the laptop be able to run these games? Especially Sims 3, because my current laptop doesn't run it too well. I also am always watching movies from Youtube or other sites online, and I hate when it is constantly buffering throughout the movie. And the movie is just slow.
Please give me as much information about the laptop as you can, I'd like to purchase my new laptop soon, and I want to make the right choice. I'm not a very tech savvy person so most of the reviews don't help me understand what this laptop can do.

What I'm looking for -Fast Fast when it comes to internet, Will run Sims, Movies (little buffering)

I Hope all this makes sense, I put in as much information as possible. I'm not too good at explaining. ~~~~

Whats wrong with my Acer Aspire laptop?

OK, check for a green light on the power cord. If it's not lighting up, theres the rub...it's in the cord.

If that's not it, it could be a battery problem. take the battery out, reinstall and see if you can get power to it.
Gotta be something that simple, you just have to do a little troubleshooting.
When this happened to me, the power cord that goes into the transformer...then on to the laptop was loose.
Checked connections, and done.

Good luck!

What's wrong with my acer aspire v5 laptop?

Acer laptops are actual a suggestion because of the fact they are no longer as complicated to repair and improve if % be. i in my opinion does no longer propose a gaming laptop for gaming, the only time i might propose this is that in case you have been a cyber web developer, song technician and others in those categories. in case you're gaming, in spite of the shown fact that, i might propose a gaming laptop. you be attentive to precisely what you're specification is and be attentive to precisely what's long previous incorrect. additionally, a custom outfitted gaming laptop is far less complicated to alter an working equipment. Laptops from branded manufacturers have embedded certificates on you're BIOS chip and makes it complicated to place in working structures that are no longer designed for that style. A custom gaming laptop does not have those encryptions, which will make issues plenty much less complicated for once you install working structures and improve aspects.

Okay so you can do one thing you've removed temp files and cleaned your PC manually , try installing C- Cleaner or CCCleaner for cleaning up your RAM.If this thing Works then it's good else you can go towards a hardware approach. Try replacing your traditional Hard disk with an SSD : Solid State Drive , the fetching of data done by Processor is faster in SSD than in normal hard-drive. Another Approach is that you can try Upgrading your RAM pal. P.S never keep waste or unused software installed in your system. I hope Above things will help you in boosting up your laptop.Thank You.

I recently ran into this on an Acer Aspire and no amount of key presses, combinations or timing would get me into the bios. Since I found this thread while digging for answers I thought I'd post my solution here in case it helps the next person.Assuming your windows is still working, browse to the Acer drivers for your model and download and update your bios to the latest version. Start with version 2.17 and then after it's restarted do 2.18 That should hopefully fix it so that you can now get into the bios by tapping the f2 key on startup. One thing to note, it will probably set your bios to UEFI mode. If you are running windows 7 or if after you flash the bios you get an "operating system not found" message then go into the bios and switch it over to Legacy mode.Hope this helps the next person.
