Thank youuuuuuuuu yur help is appreciateddd:D coz im soo lost :(:(:( please i dnt understand helppp
Group 2
1. State the trend in the reactivity of the Group 2 elements with oxygen. Explain your answer.
2. Why is the solution formed in the reaction between strontium and water more alkaline than the solution formed between calcium and water?
3. Write the balanced symbol equation for the reaction between magnesium and steam.
4. What would you see when carbon dioxide gas is bubbled into a solution of strontium hydroxide. Explain your answer.
5. Magnesium and barium are metals that form ions with a +2 charge.
(a) Describe the bonding in magnesium.
(b) Write an equation, with state symbols, to represent the second ionisation energy of barium.
(c) Explain why the second ionisation energies of magnesium and barium are greater than the first ionisation energies.
(d) Explain why the first and second ionisation energies of barium are less than those of magnesium.
6. Describe the trend in the thermal stability of group 2 carbonates.
7. Calcium carbonate decomposes on heating into calcium oxide and carbon dioxide.
(a) Write the balanced equation, including state symbols, for the thermal decomposition of calcium carbonate.
(b) What mass of calcium oxide would be formed from 20 tonnes of calcium carbonate? [1 tonne = 1 x 106 g]
(c) Calcium oxide is also known as ‘quicklime’. When water is added to quicklime, a vigorous reaction takes place forming slaked lime, Ca(OH)2.
(i) Write a balanced equation for the reaction between quicklime and water.
(ii) Slaked lime can be neutralised using hydrochloric acid, HCl.
Ca(OH)2 (s) + 2HCl (aq)  CaCl2 (aq) + 2H2O (l)
A chemist neutralised 25.0 cm3 of 0.200 mol dm-3 HCl with slaked lime.
a. What is the molar mass of Ca(OH)2?
b. How many moles of HCl were neutralised?
c. Calculate the mass of Ca(OH)2 that neutralises this HCl.
d. The chemist neutralised the same amount of HCl with NaOH. Explain why the chemist would need to use more moles of NaOH than Ca(OH)2.

Can someone explain this to me? density 8.65g/cm3 What is the mass (in pounds) of a cube of cadmium with a dimension of 4 inches on a side?

Conversion factor
1 inch = 2.54 cm

Volume of cube
(4in * 2.54cm/in)³
1048.772096cm³

Mass
1048.772096cm³ * 8.65g/cm³
9071.8786304 g

Conversion factor
1 pound = 453.59237 grams

Mass in pounds
9071.8786304 g * 1lb/453.59237 gr
20.000068851lb

20 pounds <------

Cna someone explain this for me please...?

I don't think it's true. Art means painting and sculpture and photography and drawing . . .

Can someone please explain each stanza to me (poem)?

Make me, O Lord, thy Spinning Wheele compleat;
Thy Holy Worde my Distaff make for mee.
Make mine Affections thy Swift Flyers neate,
And make my Soule thy holy Spoole to bee.
My Conversation make to be thy Reele,
And reele the yarn thereon spun of thy Wheele.

Make me thy Loome then, knit therein this Twine:
And make thy Holy Spirit, Lord, winde quills:
Then weave the Web thyselfe. The yarn is fine.
Thine Ordinances make my Fulling Mills.
Then dy the same in Heavenly Colours Choice,
All pinkt with Varnish't Flowers of Paradise.

Then cloath therewith mine Understanding, Will,
Affections, Judgment, Conscience, Memory;
My Words and Actions, that their shine may fill
My wayes with glory and thee glorify.
Then mine apparell shall display before yee
That I am Cloathd in Holy robes for glory.

Can Someone Explain To Me The Levels Of Gymnastics? And In Wich Level do You Learn Tucks And FLips?

Well im a gymnast but my coach was a gymnast (guy). He told me that the guy levels go down. Instead girls go up. Like for the girls it goes 1-10. 10 is the highest and best level. You compete the highest skills. For guys it goes 10-1. 1 is the highest and best level. Also the hardest level. At least that is what my coach told me. They probably do flips and stuff around 7 or 6. I hope this helped!

Could someone explain the story Me Tie Doughty Walker to me?

I'm not sure if any of you are familiar with it, but I heard it as a kid and I've always been thrown off by the meaningless words the dog and the head repeat. Why can the dog speak? Why are the two of them speaking nonsense? Does it mean anything?

Just give me your best guess- maybe you've thought of something I haven't!

Can anyone explain reflex arcs to mee??

refex arc is the path of impulse that travels from receptor(e.g skin)to spinal chord through sensory nerve and from spinal chord to effector(e.g muscles)through motor nerve. This impulse helps us to perform reflex action.e.g we pull back our hand on touching any hot object

Someone plz explain chemistry to me 10 POINTS BEST ANSWER?

(d) What happened to the aluminum atoms in the foil? Explain.
turned to Al3+ ions in solution as more reactive metal than copper, so can displace it.

(e) What happened to the copper(II) ions in the solution? Explain.
turned to solid copper as less reactive metal than aluminium, so displaced by it.

(f) What happened to the chloride ions in the solution? Explain.
Nothing. they are simply spectator ions.

(g) Are the ions of a metal very different from the atoms of a metal? Yes
Give some important differences in the properties you observed. colour

OKAY SO HOW DO YOU FIND THE SYMBOL FOR ALUMINUM OXIDE?
Is it Al2O3? Yes
How do u get this explain plz Use periodic table, outer electron structures or valency rules
Al wants to lose 3 outer orbit electrons, oxygen want to gain 2 electron. Smallest no containing 3 and 2 is 6, so need 2 xAl and 3 x O ie Al2O3
