Something Bit My Foot

I got cleated and my foot is swelling a bit. Anybody know something good to put on it?

Ice is the best thing to do, and keep the foot elevated - rest it on a chair or stool. And, take some pain relievers which will help relieve the inflammation and swelling. Do the ice for as long as you can tolerate it - you can use a thin towel to wrap the ice or put it in a plastic big and wrap with a thin towel or t-shirt, then sit on the injury for about 15 minutes but no more. Do that about once an hour. If you can't access ice, half fill a large pot or wastebasket with cold water and soak the foot.

After the first day you can then soak the foot in hot water with a cup of epsom salt in the water - epsom salt is magnesium citrate and it help heal bruising/sprain injuries.

If you get bit by something and it turns purple is that bad?

My boyfriend just called me from work saying something bit him on his hand and it just turned purple...he's thinking a mosquito...i'm thinking a spider but of course i'm not there so maybe a mosquito. should he worry about it? he ran some water on it and it made his hand sting more. if you could please let me know what you think... i'm not sure how to reply back to your messages on here so i'll just add more after this to answer here... this is my second time learning how to ask a question...

Have you ever been bit by something in a dream, and then woke up and still felt the pain?

It’s not super rare for me to feel what I was feeling in Dreamland, but one time was weirder than usual and, gahh, it is bothering me right now as I write this.My dreams are usually a lot of nonsense crap but very vivid. A common feature in my dreams is that of mazes - of various formats - and I’m running inside them either trying to get to somewhere or to get away from something. This one time I dreamed I was part of some sort of gang and there was people chasing us. The maze was the city, every house and building were connected by corridors and we had to fit through some tight ones or get inside the houses. One gang partner and I got separated from the rest and entered a 2 floors house, and one of the enemies found us. Long story story, I got shot right next to the ankle. My partner distracted the other guy so I could hide.I was hiding under something and looking at my ankle: there was a hole with the bullet in it, the bottom of it appearing at the surface. It didn’t hurt; it was scratching like a bitch and I kept pressing my skin next to the hole and pulling it to watch the hole stretch and the bullet moving inside it, and a bit of blood coming out.I heard my partner get shot and got the fuck out of there into the maze again, because hey, in dreamland, bullets to the ankle do not compromise your ability to run. After this it gets a little confusing. I went to a mall, found my brothers who told me where my parents were, found them at the parking lot where they told me they were gonna get me to my aunt who is a doctor to remove the bullet, but first they we had to take my brother’s friend to his house - and there was something about removing the car from the ceiling.Last thing I remember is sitting at the cramped back seat of the car with my injured ankle laying on top of my other leg’s knee, picking on the bullet and watching the blood coming out again, trying not to scratch it too hard.I woke up almost digging my nails into my ankle scratching it like crazy because fuck it, the feeling was too real, but there wasn’t a real bullet so I could scratch it as much as I’d like!

If you step on something, and it feels like a bit is still in your foot, what should you do?

Mirza,First, if whatever it was broke your skin and drew even a drop of blood, have you had a tetanus* shot within the last ten years? If not, go get one and have your foot looked at while you are at the doctor's office. If not, ask someone to take a look at your foot with a magnifying glass and a good flashlight (torch, for Brits reading this). IF the object can be seen, ask that someone to try to grab and remove it with tweezers or forceps. Then, wash the foot with soap and water. You should be fine.* there are many misconceptions about tetanus (also called “Lockjaw" because it paralyzes your jaw muscles). Clostridium tetani, the bacteria that causes tetanus (btw, brother to the bacteria that produces botulism toxin) lives everywhere in soil. Rusty nails MAY be infected, but are not the only source of this infection.

My dog keeps biting my leg or foot whenever he wants something. How can I stop it?

Biting can never, ever work. If biting gets attention, even just once every month or two, he'll keep doing it. Biting gets a stern "NO" and nothing else. No attention, no further scolding, no eye contact. Turn your back, fold your arms, and look away. Put your nose up and refuse to acknowledge the dog's existence. He's biting to get something out of you. And if biting means a reduction in attention, he'll eventually give up and try something else. At first he'll try biting again, especially if biting worked in the past. And the next time he'll try it, just to see if it works again. After time, he'll do it less and less. You also have to give him acceptable ways to ask for attention/treats/walks. "Don't do A" alone is not enough. He needs to know what he SHOULD do. Imagine you're playing a game and the prize is a $20 bill. But you don't know what to do to get the prize. You are just told what NOT to do. Sound frustrating? It is. Dogs want to make us happy but for some reason we focus too much on telling them what not to do. If we give them something to do instead they're happy to do it.Years ago a friend had a dog who absolutely adored me. He was a mini Australian Shepherd and his way of greeting me was to bounce up to my face and try to lick me. Having a dog jumping up on me was not exactly fun. It got old quickly. I did the same thing I described above (crossed arms, nose in the air) until he stopped bouncing and then told him to sit. The instant his rump was on the ground I would sit down with him and cuddle him. If he bounced, I stood back up. He learned quickly. Bouncing got ignored, sitting got cuddles. If I hadn't seen him in a week or two he might forget and bounce once or twice but a stern look had him sitting.

I was bitten by something? I feel numb now?? Help?

I got bit by something, now I feel numb?
An hour ago, I went to my bathroom to go pee, and I had couple pieces of clothes on the floor. I sat down on the toilet, and in that instant I felt intense pain in between my toes in my left foot. I screamed, and tears rolled down my face. We have a lot of scorpions, spiders, ants in my house that get in from outside, so I thought it was a spider that bit me. It stung and it felt like my pinky toe and the toe right by it were breaking off. It hurt that bad. Well now it's tingly and numb. There isn't much feeling to it. It's swollen a little bit but you cannot really tell. It's not discolored, and I cannot find a bite in between my toes or anywhere on my foot. My mom thinks I should go to the hospital, but I talked her out of it. I'm keeping a close eye on it. It doesn't hurt anymore, just tingly. What should I do??

What does it mean when you dream about getting bit on your left foot by a snake & feel a numbness on the whole left side of your body? I found a meaning for getting bit, but not about the numbness.

I am not an expert but here’s what I found on snake dreams. Dreaming of being bitten by a snake is one of the most common and striking snake dreams. While the dreamer is likely to wake up scared or confused about the meaning of such a dream, a general interpretation considers snake bite imagery in dreams as a precious warning or wake up call regarding your waking life. A snake biting you symbolically signifies that you need to pay attention to a challenging situation or emotion that has not yet been completely acknowledged and dealt with. I don’t know about numbness, it’s probably giving you signals about something that paralyzes your ability to make a choice in order to take the next step in your life or a relationship. A transformation within probably. Also could be you are resisting a change in your life?? I used to get snakes in my dreams I had a rudraksha with given to me by someone I wore it for sometime and the dreams stopped. I regularly chant Om Namah Shivay I am a Hindu by birth shiva wears snakes on his head and I thought it will help. So far it has. Maybe ask your priest if you believe in your church .

Why is my cat biting my feet all the time?

Mine is, too. He runs towards me at breakneck speed and bites my feet! Obviously, he wants something, and this is his bossy way of demanding it. If I'm not feeding him fast enough or if I'm not bending down to pet him, he nails me. My theory as to why he bites my feet is that biting is a cat's way of grabbing something. I feel like he is trying to grab me and make a point, as if to say, "Stop ignoring me!" He especially does this if I'm walking too quickly. If I'm lucky enough to see him coming, I slow down and sternly say his name a few times. It seems to break his spell.

I got a thorn stuck in my foot and skin healed over it?

I would remove it though it make work itself out. Use a germ killer on it if you remove it.
