What, for you, are the best actor's singing performances?
Here is an actor is good at acting and has a popular band, Jared Leto. 30 Seconds to Mars does produce really good songs. At first I thought it was a joke, but I like his music now. Kevin Bacon also had his band, the Bacon Brothers, but that was not nearly as good.
What are some hacks for a singing performance to have the best performance?
Everyone is different, but for me, bad nerves are the biggest performance killer. There are a few tips I recommend for optimizing your performance (the most IMPORTANT ONE is last):Avoid caffeine the day of a performance - it gives you the jitters. You already have adrenaline running through you; the caffeine only increases itDrink lots of teaNo caffeinated beverages or acidic foods - this can upset the stomach. Last thing you want is to be burping your way through a performance.Make eye contact with various points in the room. Ideally, people in the audience, but if that makes you uncomfortable, choose different spots on the wallMove! This one the toughest one for me (let’s just say I’m not the most coordinated person), but generally a performance with movement is more interesting than one without. That’s not to say that a still performance can’t be powerful - just watch Adele. But generally for most types of songs, you don’t just want to stand there.THE MOST IMPORTANT - practice in front of different sizes of crowds and locations. Practicing in your bedroom might make you FEEL more confident, but practicing in the real world is what actually gives you the deep confidence you need, especially in overcoming performance nerves. Every performance location is different - from the lighting to the type of crowd, to how much people are paying attention - and you’d be surprised how these little things can really create stress. The more you do it, the easier it becomes. There is no substitute for real world practice.
Good performance songs?
Our school is having a talent show, and I want to sing something! It can be a pop song, something from a musical, or even a Disney song (like "Reflection")! Other suggestions are welcome too! XD My voice sounds good on songs like "Jar of Hearts" by Christina Perri (although it's a little low), "Winter" by Tori Amos, "On My Own" from Les Miserables, and "Part of your World" from The Little Mermaid... hopefully that helps! PS: We probably won't be able to get good acoustics or live instruments, so a song that can be sung a cappella or has music on youtube is probably a good idea!!
Songs to sing on a class performance ?
So our class has to do like a performance for our whole grade. I'm in the first year of high school now :) I have to sing and another girl will play the piano, but we don't know which song we should choose.. Any ideas ? My (female!) cousin has a wide vocal range (can go really low, really high) and is thinking of auditioning for her school's talent show. Her high notes are really beautiful. She wants to sing one of these two songs: Kelly Clarkson's "Breakaway" or Natasha Bedingfield's "Unwritten." To help her out, I thought I'd ask: which one would sound better as an audience member?
