What can cause white spots in my throat?
Inside or outside?If outside (on the skin) and not just a patchy tan, my guess would be vitiligo.If inside, it could be something as simple as residue from something you’ve eaten or drunk, to something more complex, like an infection. Thrush, strep throat, tonsillitis, and many other health issues can cause white spots or patches in the throat. If drinking water doesn’t make it go away, you should probably go to your doctor or a walk-in clinic to have it checked out.
How long until the white spots from strep throat should go away?
I was diagnosed with strep throat about 9 days ago and I've been on the antibiotics since then but I looked in my throat and the white spot (there was only one when I went to the doctor) is still there and I think it may even be a little bigger. It looks like there might be a tiny black spot in the middle.. I'm just wondering if it will still stay a while after I'm not sick or if it still being there means I still have strep.
Sore throat and white spots.. when will they go away?
So i got tested for strep and the lady couldn't tell if the positive line was clearly there so she perscribed me 10 day penicillin. It didn't go away, so i went to the doctor and they gave me a Z-pack which usually works for me (i get sore throats a lot and this time theres a million white patches on my tonsils and they're swollen) I just took my 3rd days dose of the z-pack out of 5 days, and my throat still really hurts. I have no fever and i only feel a little run down. But when do you think my throat will be back to normal?! I'm on winter break and don't want to waste it. thanks! also- really not looking to get my tonsils out so please don't suggest that haha
I have a sore throat with white spots. While eating some toast with jam, most of the pain went away. Why is that?

The reason the toast helped is because it scraped your throat down a little bit.Try this: make some salt water, as hot as you can stand, and as salty as you can stand. Gargle with it about 5 times a day. The salt will help to dry out the infection.If you get a fever, you will probably need antibiotics.Drink a lot of hot liquids too. Tea, soup, for example. A good “tea” is hot lemonade. You can also mix honey with lemon juice, or lime (fresh squeezed if you can) mix the 2 together on a big spoon, and swallow that. You can do this as much as you want.If it is cold where you live, wear a scarf outside. Keep your throat warm. You can sleep with the scarf if you want. Also, applying Vicks Vaporub on your throat will help soothe it, from the outside in.
I have strep and the white patches on my throat won't go away. What should I do?
I went in to the dr after my throat had hurt really bad for a week. I get strep a lot but it started to feel worse than usual. I had a fever, my whole body ached, I got the chills and my throat and ears were unbelievably painful. The doctor did a culture and it came back positive for strep and she gave me an antibiotic for 10 days - augmentin -to take twice a day. Its been a week now and i can feel the infection move into my chest. Im coughing a lot and my chest is sore to the touch. I looked at my throat with a flashlight and there are still white patches all on over the back of my throat. My throat has got better but is still kind of sore, and so are my ears. Shouldn't the pain and white patches be gone by now? I only have two days left of antibiotics.
Tonsillitis, white spots and white down throat?
It's from infection. I used to get that a lot. Gargling hot salt water helps and antibiotics and plenty of rest do as well. You want to be careful with throat infections, maybe see a doctor to make sure it is not strep
I have Strep, and the white spots won't go away..?
I was diagnosed with strep. Its been over 48 hours that i have been on my 2nd set of antibiotics because the first ones did not work, and my tonsils still have large white spots on them (especially on the right tonsil). Is that normal? Do I need a stronger antibiotic? Am I still contageous? Thanks!
Recurring sore throat and white spots on tonsils, whats going on?
2-3 weeks ago I had a slight sore throat, soon after I got a very bad cold, a week later I thought I was done being sick, but then I woke up to a severe sore throat, later that night I got a fever, my neck was stiff, I felt horrible. I went to the doctors the next day, and they did one of those rapid strep tests, it came out negative. I also had the white spot. They never told me what I had just gave me penicillin. Ive had strep twice before but not that often, and so I assumed I had tonsillitis. I took the medicine as prescribed. The ten days of taking the meds ended a few days ago. And now, I again have a sore throat with an even bigger white spot, a dry cough, if I breathe deeply it makes me cough. Any idea with what could be going on with me?
How long until my sores from strep throat go away?
If they are not gone by the end of the meds, you have not killed all the bacteria. This is uncommon and raises larger concerns as to why. If they are not gone completely by the end of the meds, you need to absolutely check back with the doctor. Bring up the fact that the last time you had strep didn't go away completely. You will likely become a candidate for removal of your tonsils. It's a painful surgery but will be better after all.
White spots on tonsils wont go away?
About 2 weeks ago I had a bad sore throat with white spots on my tonsils, I later found out that the white spots are dead white blood cells and bacteria (so i think). I was over it for about 3 or 4 days then it came back, but only the white spot on my left tonsil and no sore throat. There is also wat appears to be red almost little bloody spots in the back of my throat and the veins are really red. Is this something serious? I also noticed that my eyes are becoming more veiny as well... i don't know if it has anything to do with it.
