Sound Sometimes Out Of Sync Steaming Netflix

How do I fix a DVD's sound when it is out of sync?

Your source, your audio receiver, or your TV could be causing a problem. How are you setting it up?Plug the source (DVD player or computer) directly into the TV. Is the audio in sync? If not, there may be a setting in your TV menu called audio sync, mess with that. If your source is a computer and you are playing ripped video, maybe the video is bad, maybe your player is bad. Try a different player. In my , the best player hands down is VLC media player. VLC has a sync tool, but a bad rip won’t be fixable. It will slowly desync as it plays. If the video is bad like that you can’t do anything about it.If your source is a DVD, the audio outputs may be out of sync. The SPDIF optical may have a delay, the coax may have a delay, there may be issues. Check the DVD player settings for a desync. I prefer a DVD player with HDMI output directly to the receive for TV for that reason. HDMI has a good sync method. If there are no settings, grab a different DVD player. Finally, it may be your audio receiver. Some receivers just have poor decoding that creates a delay. You can check there for a sync setting, but you better have your manual. Most receivers don’t have on screen displays and that makes everything difficult.Good Luck!

Does playstation 3 have Netflix?

Yep, PS3 does support Netflix. In fact, all you have to do is log in and request that they send you the streaming disc, once it gets to you then you can sync it via the code the give you and bam you are up and running. At this point, you can only watch stuff on your PS3 that you can instant stream though.

As an aside, currently to watch Netflix you have to have the disc inserted but both Netflix and Sony have promised that within the next update or two there will be a native Netflix App so the disc will no longer be required which will be much more convenient so you dont have to take your game disc out.

Video Streaming is Choppy?

OK so Ive been streaming videos for years. Sometimes with problems but most of the time I never had any problems until recently. Sites like Putlocker or Sockshare have been playing their videos very choppy and jerky but surprisingly the buffer seems to be faster than ever. Youtube seems to be doing fine although it does get choppy when I have a video playing but I am looking at another tab. Netflix was giving me some problems with video and audio being out of sync but disabling hardware acceleration on my netflix profile has fixed it. All my research seems to point to hardware acceleration but I cannot disable mine because the option to do it is greyed out. I have the same problem in chrome and firefox, and I turn off almost everything else that might use my internet. I also deleted my cookies and I run defragmentation regularly. I also run my antivirus software regularly. My sound is fine and everything else using the internet works fine as well. I recently moved house and started a new internet connection and I thought it might be that but I just think it is hardware acceleration. I pay for 6mbps but a recent test showed that I get over 7. Adobe flash and directx are up to date.

My specs are attached.

Why do subtitles sometimes go out of sync, and how can it be fixed?

Subtitles are stored in a text file with time codes that tell the video when to play each text frame. If those time codes are off, that will make the subtitles look out of sync. The solution would be to adjust the time codes in the subtitle file itself. This works if you own the video and have access to the subtitle file. If you're just watching on YouTube, you could message the channel owner to have it fixed. If you notice out-of-sync subtitles or caption on TV or a film in the US, you can submit a complaint to the FCC. The FCC requires that captions be time-synced correctly, so a complaint will prompt the broadcaster or distributor to fix it.More about submitting a complaint to the FCC: FCC Makes It Easy To File Complaints About Closed Captions

How do I fix Netflix problems on Roku?

Go to http://Support.Roku.com and see if they have an answer that will help already posted, if not then contact support from that same site.

Why do closed captions/subtitles sometimes not match up to what is actually being said?

It happens because the people who make the subtitles are incompetent. Contrary to what a lot of the other answers say, there is no legitimate reason for the subtitles to not match what is being said. I have watched hundreds of movies and TV shows where the subtitles match perfectly. An occasional error is OK, but it is extremely irritating when practically every other line does not match. For example: I am currently watching Joss Whedon’s Angel series with subtitles, and practically every line is paraphrased (for no good reason) and poorly timed. Why go through the trouble of making subtitles if you’re not going to do a good job?

Why is a Roku better than an Internet enabled Blu-ray player?

Your take is apparently in the minority as Roku has amassed nearly three million users and is rapidly expanding to many Netflix international territories.  Too, Roku has a wide variety of content and a simple "passes the babysitter test" user experience.  At any rate, these devices are nowhere near direct competitors given their vastly different functionality and available content.  Roku has over 400 channels; Sony sticks to the biggies.  Roku has Angry Birds and other games and a new motion remote; Sony probably has solitaire and Sudoku.  The Roku XD has a $99.99 price tag;  the Sony player linked above clocks in at $130 (on-sale!).The comparison is a bit like pitting a cable lineup against Netflix.  The competition is very limited and they can be very complementary.
