Speedlight Radio Trigger Problems

How can I trigger AB b800 strobes using a Nikon D3100?

The D3100 does support iTTL via the hot shoe. The D3100 does NOT support remote control of flash units wirelessly using the CLS system.

Virtually any manual triggering system will work - Pocket Wizards, etc. to trigger your off-camera strobes. However, you may need to use slave flash/manual exposure mode unless both the flash and triggers understand iTTL as well (some do, but most don't).

You can also buy a Nikon SU800 trigger module that sits atop the hot-shoe, but this is for Nikon speedlights only, as it is an infrared triggering system.

Hi I just got the neewer TT560 speed light for my canon t2i and have had some problems with it. The first problem is is when I go into my camera settings for flash control it says that the flash is not compatible with this camera. I was also wondering If I want to use the flash off my camera Do I need a cord or some sort of adapter, and if not how do I set it up. Nikon D80 with SB600 fired with Elinchrom Skyport remote trigger - FP not appearing on the LCD of SB600?

I use a Nikon D80. I am firing the SB600 with Elinchrom Skyport as i need it off camera. Even though my Auto FP is ON in the camera, when i go beyond 1/200 shutter speed, FP is not appearing on the SB600's LCD. As it is said that it will automatically show the FP when i go beyond the actual camera flash sync speed. And i am getting my exposure half exposed and half dark. As if like some black card is placed in front of the lens. What should i do to get higher sync speeds with the SB600? Waiting for fast response.

I know about slave triggering using the camera's built-in flash. Am I right to think that the subject will be lit by both the external and built-in flash, and what can I do to eliminate the presence of the built-in flash on the subject?

Most external flashes are much more powerful than your camera's built in flash, and that light will over power and show more than the built in flash. That being said, most of the time external flashes are purposefully aimed and positioned such that the light is not exactly parallel to direction that the camera is shooting, and any light given from the on camera flash will provide odd lighting if not handled appropriately. To minimize this odd effect, you can:diffuse your on camera flashlower the output of the on camera flash in the camerablock/bounce the flash off of a card to only aim at the flash, rather than the subjectThe issue with all these options is that the slave flash is triggered optically, which means the on camera flash has to reach the slave flash to trigger. The first two methods restrict your on camera flash, thus reducing the reliability of triggering the slave flash in difficult situations. The third one, without a well designed holding system for the card might be awkward to hold - it could work for you.An alternative, if you're shooting the external flash on manual, would be to get some cheap radio triggers (~$40), which does not shoot visible light, but does not allow you to modify the flash from the camera ( if you have a camera body that can shoot in commander mode with the on camera flash)

Nikon D40 w/ SB600 and a Cactus Wireless Flash Trigger. Please Help!?

I have a Nikon d40 with an sb600 speedlight. I am wanting to use the sb600 as a backlight / fill flash. I know that the d40 does not have "commander" mode but is there another way that I can control the sb600 wirelessly AND be able to use the wimpy built in flash on my camera to illuminate the front of the subject?

Neewer tt 660 II flash speedlite and a canon rebel t3i?

I need help, I don't know how to sync the two so I haven't been able to use my flash. I don't know if the settings in my camera are wrong or if it's in the flash. I also have neewer 2.4GHz triggers on camera. I would greatly appreciate it. I've been trying to figure this out for a while now. Thanks! :)
