Who is the best ever professional sports champion from your town?
I can’t answer this because I came from a city that had great pro teams in nearly every sport. (Most would point to the 1927 Babe Ruth-Lou Gehrig New York Yankees as the greatest professional baseball team ever, although others might claim the 1936 team -Joe DiMaggio’s rookie season - or the 1961 team with Maris and Mantle.) There were outstanding championship football teams - the NY Giants and the Super Bowl-winning NY Jets of 1969, ice hockey franchises - the NY Rangers and the NY Islanders, and basketball winning franchises - the 1969 NY Knickerbockers and the NY Nets. In fact, many people claimed NY fans were “spoiled” because the city had so many great teams. Some used that as justification for expanding different sports leagues. To pick one team from all those great athletes would be impossible and unfair to those who performed for the others. The worst, however was without a doubt the 1962–64 New York Mets. The “Amazing Mets” were not just the worst team in New York sports history, they were also the most endearing and entertaining team to that point in pro sports history.

It is a really easy and affordable process.The answers to this question written by others are very misleading and outrightly wrong. I am qualified to answer this question because I myself had to figure out how to start shooting sports 5 years ago. Over the last five years I have won several national and state level medals and also received sponsorships by various organisations.However, before answering the question, I feel it is very important to get rid of the basic misconceptions associated with learning pistol shooting.Firstly, air pistol/rifle shooting is not very expensive and you absolutely do not need to be part of the military to afford to play the sport. For example, my local range charges INR 750 a month which includes unlimited range usage and renting of a top class pistol . In comparison, my local gym charges me over INR 1000 per month!Secondly, you do not have to purchase an air pistol or rifle immediately! For my first 2 years of pistol shooting I would rent the air pistol provided by my range for practice matches. This made pursuing the sport much more affordable. Only after I knew that I wanted to take the sport seriously did I invest in an air pistol.Now, I will give a comprehensive step-by-step answer on how to start pistol shooting.Step 1 : Google your city name followed by “shooting ranges”. Now, choose from the various options. Ensure that the range of your choice is close to you because you will be able to practice more often if you live close to the range.For example, someone in Mumbai would get such results from Google.Step 2: Call the various ranges (using the numbers provided by google) and enquire regarding prices of a basic/beginners course and general range usage to see which ranges are within your budget. Now you can join your club and start training immediately. It is that simple!I would highly encourage you to start shooting because it is an amazing sport that will increase your attention span, relieve stress and will make you a more patient individual.Pistol shooting is genuinely not time consuming and even 3 days a week at the range will be enough to make you a great shooter.
