Iphone 5 on boost mobile?
I plan on purchasing an iphone 5 at walmart because their prices are very cheap... well i already have a plan with boost mobile and id like to know if i can buy this phone at walmart then have it under my boost mobile plan... boost mibile does carry the iphone 5 but im going to by it from walmart not boost mobile. So how exactly would that work out? please i need your help. Thank you in advance.

Actually Boost has offered cdma service for over three years since 2006 with limitations (taxes, only area codes from 13 states and three phones). You can use use many (but not all ) Sprint phones on the newly revived Cdma plan (no sim card, no walkie talkie). There are going to be three new phones incuding a Blackberry 8330 for the newly revived cdma plan . You can use almost any Sprint phone onto Boost cdma if you 1)Activate with a REAL Boost mobile cdma phone first (used Motorola C290 is the cheapest) . You HAVE to do that or no go. Then, 2)Transfer the esn of your cooler Sprint phone over. This takes patience and time and if you do succeed, please realize this warning: DO NOT EXPECT ANY HELP from Sprint or Boost. It is now officially an "unsupported device" . Which means, you are ON YOUR OWN if anything goes wrong. Here is a beginner's guide to Boost cdma and Sprint phones on it. I believe it will have to be unlocked in order for them to change the data, sms, and calling settings all called APN settings. If it isn't unlocked I believe the phone would have to be from Sprint because Boost Mobile uses Sprint's network frequency for their service. Hope this clears things up for you!

It all depends if the phone has been paid off then you would have to call Boost and have them switch the IMEI over to the new device due to Sprint and Boost running off of a CDMA network not GSM. Few reason why VZN and Apple will make sure the new CDMA phone is not flash-able and locked down. Sprint already said there official stance eon activating iphone ESN on there network if some one actually manages to flash it. They said a big NO. Sprint owns Boost and Virgin so im guessing the same will apply to those carrier as well

You can always switch carriers. Boost is a no contract company. As far as keeping your number I 'm not sure. And Boost Mobile has the iphone 5c. Only switch if you're getting the Note2. Boost Mobile is more customer friendly than Sprint though, which is why I left Sprint.
