Did you have calf pain when you sprained your ankle (did I strain a muscle on top of my sprain)?

I sprained my ankle a week and a half ago. Most of my swelling has gone down and I have barely any ankle pain. However, when I stand on my toes I feel a sharp pain on my mid-calf. Have any of you experienced this? I'm afraid that I may have strained a muscle. Thanks for your input.

Has anyone had ankle fusion surgery?

i've had both ankles done still have pain but i can move around better thing is i put off surgery till i couldn't walk if i had done it when the doc wanted too(10 yrs earlier) i probaly would be even better

What is going on with my ankle/foot/leg? Outer ankle, lower leg swelling. No known injuries. No bruising.?

I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT IT IS! i had it myself! No cut, no bruise, just concentrated pain! Its called OSTEOMYLITUS. It an INFECTION IN THE BONE. i had it in my heel. I'm sorry, to have to tell you this, but i had to go to hospital and have 3 operations where they drain the fluid (infection) that is surrounding the bone. see your bone is like cheese with holes in it. and the infection get stuck actually IN the bone. so after the 3 operations i was on crutches for three months and had to take 15 tablets a day for 9 months! because there is a huge risk that the infection can come back. and it takes a long long time for it to go. but the fact that i was 11 at the time, meant that my bones were still growing and that the infection was pushed out and passed through my system. i don't what age you are, but all i can tell you is, the longer you leave it, the worse it will get, and you are more at risk of having the infection for life no matter how much operations you have. it took me 2 and a half years before my fot was fully strong again. i couldn,t walk for long at all cause my foot gotr real sore and tired. SEE YOUR DOCTOR NOW! AND GET SENT TO THE HOSPITAL! ITS OSTEOMYLITUS! INFECTION IN THE BONE! (I'm 99% certain! otherwise it could be arthritus. (I have juvenile arthritus) Believe me! tell me how you get on. i really care!! cAUSE I KNOW THE AGONY YOU FEEL its torture!

How can I ease the foot pain from a Achilles Tendon?

Thank you for asking this.My perspective is that of a sports coach who had to help athletes fix problems, often from a low income position.First we need to know the history: what caused it and why has it not healed.Next: what does your orthopaedic consultant say? We should take note of this as it is key to understanding (a) the situation, and (b) the fix.If you are in fact saying you can’t afford professional help: then we have to get creative. Above all you must recognise that this route means you need to stop any physical activity right now that could be aggravating the problem.I would be looking at: complete cessation of any physical activity; strapping the joint up tightly for periods of 4 days to rest it; application of Arnica cream occasionally; application of Voltarol cream as needed (diclofenac NSAID); treatment under the management of a physio if you can’t afford a consultant physician; and complete rest for 3 months. If you don’t stop what is prolonging the issue, and fix it now, you are looking at being crippled and unable to do anything much. What is the real story here? Some of this is basic logic, and really we need to know the back story - such as “I am broke and can’t afford proper treatment”; or “I have to teach Capoiera daily or I will starve”, or whatever the real story is.The European solution is: you stop aggravating the injury; go to your doctor; get referred to a specialist; get it fixed, while resting the injury totally; after some months you gradually start to rebuild fitness; and it is all free or at a minimum charge for prescription medicines. So I guess there must be a good reason this process cannot be followed.

What's the best way to treat chronic tenosynovitis?

I obtained this condition above my left ankle about a couple of years ago playing soccer. It really hasn't gone away; when I poke at that area, it feels like a fresh painful bruise. I'm able to run and move around since the injury is above where my sneaker tops off.

I heard that acupuncture is helpful. Your suggestions are welcome.
Thanks.
