I had a lip piercing ripped out in an attack and stitches put in. What should I do to help the area heal?
I got attacked a few days back by some drunk guys when I was walking home at night. I got hit loads of times with a bottle , but they also got me in a headlock and ripped my lip piercing out. It was unbelievably painful but I couldn't get out of their grip and they were much stronger. I've had some stitches put in, but is there anything I can do to make sure the tear heals properly?
How to describe the pain of getting stitches.?
Am writing a book, my character requires stitches on his back, but without anesthetic. I am at a loss of how to describe the pain and or feeling. Any help would be appreciated.
How painful is it to get a daith piercing?
Mine didn't hurt at all my piercer made me breath in deeply and then exhale while he pierced and it didnt hurt. Just a slight dull ache a few hours later and fine after a paracetemol. A week after when someone hugged me and bashed my ear that,was painful but it settled down. The aftercare Is really hard as its so close to your ear hole, saline solution or salt water goes into it (I suggest plugging your ear with something first) also now it swollen may have an infection even Though I am cleaning regularly , its just in such a hard to reach place and I cannot see the entry or exit points well as I would another location. So yh just aftercare is annoying but well worth it I love this piercing.
Please help "stitch" like pain in lower left rib?
I have suffered irregular sharp pain to my left rib (just under ribcage) for about 4 years however over the last 2 weeks its every day and niggling I also experience this if I lie with only 1 pillow in bed in fact it wakes me up! So I have to use 2 pillows then i cant get comfy. I also feel very full in my stomach as though there is a watermelon in there (This is upper stomach in between ribs not chest) I have appointment to the docs but I am very worried and would appreciate any help as to what it could possibly be Many thanks
What do you think hurts more a tattoo or piercing?
I'm just getting opinions and my choice would be a piercing. I had my chest tattooed and lip pierced in the same day and my lip piercing hurts sooo bad (it's been like 3 days). As far as my chest goes I had them tattooed skimming the line of my collar bone and getting that done hurt but I didn't wimp out haha. I just laid back closed my eyes and breathed. What an experience. :) I love it.
What can I do about my internal stitches trying to pop out?
I had a medial imbrication on my knee on November 2nd. When I took the bandages off I felt something on my incision that felt like an internal stitch sticking out. Then I started feeling sharp stabbing pains along my incision when I would bend my knee. I started feeling bumps on the incision that would get bigger when I bent my knee. I told my ortho about it, and he said it was normal, but that doesn't make it any less scary or painful. Since then the bumps have gotten bigger and I have several running along my incision. One of them feels like it's going to bust thru my skin any minute. And it feels like somebody stabbing me with needles from inside my knee. They are getting much worse and much more painful. What can I do to make it stop or at least not hurt so bad? And is it possible that they WILL actually bust out of my skin?
What causes pain in the left side of your stomach after dancing or running?
The pain sensation in the left side of your stomach after physical activities/workout session is due to amount of blood flow to the Gastro Intestinal (GI) organs decreases as it is diverted to the working muscles. There are also changes to the rate of gastric emptying and hormone levels. Abdominal muscle contractions and increased diaphragm movements may also contribute to GI symptoms during exercise. To mitigate these symptoms mainly involves reducing the contents of the stomach during exercise. Meals should not be eaten within 3 hours of exercise and what is eaten should be low in fat and protein. If further treatment is needed, antacid medication may be helpful in reducing heatburn and upper abdominal pain. Antacid medications are usually effective for 30 minutes. If this is not sufficient a Doctor may prescribe medications such as H2 Blocker (Ranitidine) or PPI (Omeprazole).
Does a tattoo hurt more than stitches?
your lips are very sensitive, it wont hurt as much as the stitches, however there will be alot more needle punctures with a tatoo than for stitches in a lip.. so less intense but more of them. Ask them to put on a topical anaesthetic cream like emla or lignocaine jelly beforehand!?
