Stressed Personality People How Do You Calm Yourselves Down

If someone says you have a calm personality - what exactly does this mean?

A friend told me that I had a calm personality and so there could be no personality clashes with me. Previously, at school a teacher told me that under my quiet exterior I have a subversive streak. I am a 22 year old woman... What exactly is meant by having a calm personality?

What would you consider your best asset physically and personality wise, what is the worst?

physical best-legs
physical worst- feet are so dried out!
personality best- i don't hold grudges
personality worst- i get hate it when i am ignored

What do you do to calm down when you're angry, stressed or anxious?

In Russian I have this one phrase that I use in every single negative aspect of my life.“Жизнь продолжается.”It is translated to “Life Goes On”. And that makes me remember that spending my time worrying is wasting my life which needs to be happy. Being anxious is only allowing negative things more time to be in my head instead of the things that actually matter. It reminds me that nothing should ever take my peace. And it reminds me that nothing is so important as to focus on it and not on what is slipping by me whether I'm focused on it or not. You wouldn't allow yourself to be distracted when you are driving a car so that you do not get out of the line that you were driving in unintentionally. Then why are you take your eyes off the direction your life is going just to deal with some unimportant nuisance. Never take your focus on the road ahead, never loose your cool and get distracted, why? Because,“Жизнь продолжается”Honestly, I highly recommend that you learn how to say the phrase in Russian and learn it as well as you can and say it to yourself in times of anguish because when you will say it to yourself, it will mean more to you in Russian because you worked to learn how to say it. It will mean more because you have chosen to learn it, chosen to accept what it means. Because this is not meant to be a happy phrase. Quite the opposite actually. It is meant to remind you that you have a limited time and no matter how much you wanted to stop no matter how much you want it slowed down no matter how much you want to take a break. You cannot forget,“Жизнь продолжается”In conclusion, as soon as you realize that being sad or angry or stressed out or offended or lonely or depressed, only waste your time and that life moves on whether you are walking with it or you are stuck in the past.“Жизнь продолжается”

Can anxiety medication cause extreme personality changes?

I have an aunt in her early 60's who has been taking Lexapro (escitalopram oxalate) for over a year to help her with anxiety/depression and she swears by it. Before that she was taking high doses of valium and using alcohol to relax. She also smokes heavily and drinks a lot of strong coffee. I'm really worried about her because I've noticed very significant changes in her personality. She used to be fun to hang out with and very happy-go-lucky, now she's extremely negative and lacks empathy for others. She also has a somewhat distorted perception of reality. For example: If she borrows money off ppl she gets mad if they want it back?! Needless to say, she has lost almost all her friends. Could meds cause these massive personality changes?
