Suggest Some Name For A Architect Designing Company Who Do Help People To Design And Arrange A New

Architecture Vs. Graphic Design?

There are unis that do joint civil engineering/architecture courses but that would require maths.

Some schools of architecture focus very much on the creative side and encourage students to think up 'crazy' 'new' ideas for buildings rather than simply functional ones. But in reality how many architects in their career get to work on projects like these? Most end up designing buildings of the more functional variety.

Have you considered urban design as that involves aspects of architecture and engineering as well as design? It would still require creative thinking in terms of designing and planning urban spaces, but maybe not so much in demanding 'wild' 'new' solutions each time. Urban design can also include transport planning and it doesn't require maths.

Can't think of any other suggestions right now.

Edit:

Forgot to add Interior Architecture and Design, seeing as you mentioned room layouts.

It all depends on what balance between the technical and creative skills you want in your future career. Architecture can be quite tough at times with projects lasting several years. Architects not only design the building but see the whole construction process through. Its a lot of organising, responsibility and stress. But if you are passionate about architecture go for it.

Competition in both the architecture and graphic design field is high. There's definately not a shortage of graphic designers though!

How can you sell building plans if you are not an architect? Can you just design the concept and then have an architect make the final design?

The use of the word “architect” is regulated by state law but anyone can provide a house plan. A lot if builders do. Or you can buy plans from someone who does them. You can get a plan from a book. If you build your own house and have a structural engineet stamp it , you can do what you want. ( my parents designed all of their houses and there wasn't an architect involved at all )If the builder provides the plans, they are doing it as part of the service they provide, which is to build a residence. They aren't selling a plan, they are selling a building. You can call yourself a “designer” in most states and provide the service.Note: in architecture there are some states with “title” laws and some with “practice “ laws. In a title state you cannot call yourself an architect but you can provide the equivalent service if someone else is stamping your plans. California is a title state. In a practice state, you cannot provide the service unless you are licensed. This is regulated state by state. There is no national law governing architecture.

I just completed my civil engineering degree and I want to start my own construction company. Where should I start? How can I become a government contractor?

Don't listen to what people tell you here. I have very different take on this question. Answers given by people here are from professional angle whereas I will give a completely different perspective. I am a civil engineer myself & into business for last 11 years.Firstly, qualification doesn't matter. It can land you a job but not a project as a contractor.Think like a businessman.Follow these steps and you will be able to do just fine, without wasting time at site -Join a small construction company as a marketing or sales person. Make an arrangement with the owner of the company that you will get him construction projects by showcasing his company to Architects, Projects managers etc.Learn how to sell.Meet as many architects, designers & project managers as you can & build personal relationship with them.Learn how different site people mange different site activities along with your sales work.Spare some money so that you could hire a good experienced civil engineer who could work on project when you get one. Or you can tie up with a professional who will work for profit with you. After you are confident that you have right people to work with you, start your own company.Target same architects, designers and project managers that you were meeting earlier.Start small and do a good work whenever you get any work.It is easy to be successful in construction industry because most of the contractors are for profits only. If you are committed & quality conscious you will be at good level after few years.I have seen few successful people who have followed the above process and made name for themselves.
