Take Notes You Need This

Do you need to take notes on e2020 to pass?

I'm currently doing Chemistry on e2020 and my teacher said I need to take notes to pass (even though he doesn't check them), but my friends say you don't. I don't really need the notes because there's always google if I forget something. So will I fail or will my grade be bad if I don't take the notes?

Why should I take notes while I read?

Your question is actually something I’ve struggled a lot in the past years in my education. The actual importance is not whether you should or shouldn’t but exactly why do you need those notes. The truth is that the brain needs this. Its pretty simple to expaint, but let me start from very basic. The human brain is very visual and words are a breif view for what the text is actually saying. By taking notes you create maps, which can combine the reading with the brain.Usually note taking techniques include diagrams and all kind of visualisations, which help the brain to connect everything. But what’s even more important - to remember. When you finish reading a book or any text your brain can remember the information for very short or not exactly long period of time. By summerizing the text you read your brain can actually make efford to remember the most important. This way you need to study less and smart. For what’s worth we need to perish our time, especially when we study or plan something that includes a lot of reading. By writing notes everything you read can be much more usuable for longer period of time without the need of re-reading everything. If you want to learn more I especially suggest seeing this guy -He has very good videos that expain everything about studying, reading and how to take notes. If you struggle with your studying you can also check this - Efficient learning and working – what to avoid during your sessions - what to avoid during your learning sessions and how to make the best of your time. :)Much success!

Should i take notes for my drivers ed class on line?

It all depends on your way of learning. I personally did not have the need to take notes. But had to practice on a virtual machine. Good luck! :)

Should I take Notes during Driver's Ed?

I'm taking an online course (driversedtogo.com) and so far I've been taking extremely thorough notes.
Is this necessary, or will I just get by by reading and understanding the material.
So far, I haven't really found anything I don't already know.

Are you supposed to take notes in college?

Yes take notes.  A percentage of your professors will test you on stuff they present in class but isn't in your class materials.  In addition you will eventually be asked to defend or dismantle a position your prof presented in class and the way he presented it in class will be different than the textbook.  Most importantly writing stuff down from lectures is a way to reinforce the information presented and may cut down on the amount of reading time outside of class.

Do you take notes when reading a book? If yes, how do you take notes to help you better absorb information? When do you use a highlighter, pencil, or sticky notes? What are some good ways to enhance your reading quality?

Some time ago I read a blog post by Mark Manson on reading, and after applying his tips, I can say they are really useful. Here is a little summary:How to read faster1. Stop reading through an inner monologue in your head2. Don't pay attention to every word, only scan the text (especially useful when looking for specific information)3. Skip anything that seems useless (e.g. repetitive content)How to retain more1. Relate a new idea to something you already know2. Highlight, underline or bookmark for reference3. After finishing a book, make notes on the highlighted parts and write a short summary of the bookThis is taken from Mark's article How to Read Faster and Retain More. I encourage you to read it for a detailed description of the tips above.

Is it necessary to take notes during lectures?

I almost never take notes.I find notes are good for learning specifics, but bad for gaining a good understanding - which is what you should be striving for. Taking notes makes you focus on the specifics and semantics of what the teacher is saying. Just listening to the professor helps you remember the gist of what they are teaching; all of the unnecessary details melt away, and you are left with a basic understanding. There's no such thing as multitasking; your brain can really only process one thing at a time. In the case of class, your brain is working only on eithet transcribing or translating. I find translating to be much more effective. For example, a professor walks through a math problem on the board. You could either follow along and write what they wrote verbatim, hoping that you will be able to decipher and understand it later as you study for your final, or you can listen to the professor and try to understand what they are doing as they are doing it - no need to study it later.

How do I take notes while reading? Do I have to take notes all the time?

It depends on your personal preference and need. I usually do the following:MarginaliaIf I’m reading from a paperback or a hardcover that belongs to me, then I happily write stuff in the margins and in the gaps of a page in which I’m reading and wanted to take a note. So whenever I’m reading a certain concept or a thing that’s new, I usually scribble about it in the margin and look up for it later. If I come across something important that needs to be read again, I scribble and write about it in the margin and leave to get back to it sometime later.Highlighter Use a highligther and highlight important lines and passages (Only if that book belongs to you.) If it doesnt, then take a piece of paper and fold it to make sure it accomodates more matter and write in it or even better, take a book and write down all the important things along with the page number or the chapter of the book that you read it from.Highlight and take notesIf you’re using a kindle to read your books then you can happily use a digital highlighter in the kindle and comfortably highlight the required passages. Also, there’s no compulsory rule that you should highlight all the time while reading a book. Take it easy…do it when required. Highlight while reading informative books etc.,Cheers and Happy Reading.

What is a reasonable price to pay someone to take notes for me for an entire semester in college?

Professors will not let people who are not registered for the class just sit there. So if you hire your own note taker you still have to get permission for the person to sit in class.

As a college professor I would never let a person sit in class to take notes for another student who was not verified by Disability services.

So you need to get over the embarrassment of a learning disability. It is just like needing to wear glasses to see the board or a hearing aid to hear. Note takers are just an aid to learning. They do not indicate you are stupid.

I once had a student tenant. He was learning disabled ,but was ashamed to get the services provided and talk to his teachers in private. He was failing school. So he finally got one. It took him 7 years to finish, but the year he graduated he was the ONLY student to graduate with a degree in physics.

Never, ever, never let pride get in the way. Misplaced pride can keep you from reaching your goals. Don't let anyone make you ashamed of needing a little help. If you need help, you can ask if you can record the lectures, but the teacher will want to know why. And many teachers do not allow their lectures to be taped.

Ask the teacher if they print lecture notes.

Don't be ashamed or too proud to get help. That just means you are insecure. Remember no one is perfect. All of us need help for something. It takes a person who is secure in his/her own self to admit they need help and go get it.
