Taking Away Food Tapao From A Party. Is It An Aunty Thing Or Asian

Help me identify what these two things found in Chinese food are?

Need more info on your crunchy, beige slices. One, it could be water-chestnuts. But these are not often used in chinese savoury cooking. They aren't peperry but more on the mild, sweet side. Perhaps the taste you mentioned is due to the gravy?

They could also be bamboo shoot slices, which again are not too often used because of its strong, pungent smell and aftertaste. But it's a favourite. One other possibility is lotus root. It's crunchy with a mild aftertaste. Usually looks like a sieve with really large holes ^_^ when sliced.

Your fla, black things are fungi. It's a type of wood fungi, often sold dried in Chinese grocery shops. After soaking, they swell up.

Why did Crazy Rich Asians have such a bad opening in China?

As a Chinese, I think I can express my opinion. This is divided into three levels.First, this is a bad film, another boring Cinderella story. Only all the cast members are Asian, but this is not enough to cover up the shortcomings of the film itself. And in China, without the "political correctness" of Americans, we don't have to close our eyes to please the minority, and films like the Black Panther and the Shape of Water(except for political correctness, I can't understand the two films’ good review in the US market).Second, the "Oriental Culture" expressed in this movie, or I am more frank, "Chinese culture" is very rigid and strange. It is like Tso’s Chicken in a Chinese restaurant in the United States. It is not Chinese food. It is just the Chinese food that Americans imagine. In fact, these Asian Americans, our Chinese compatriots, probably do not know what Chinese culture is. They continue to deepen the American echo effect and stereotypes of Asians.Third, and most importantly, China's public opinion believes that as China's voice is growing, Asian Americans and Chinese Americans have gained the bargaining chip and backing of negotiations with the mainstream American society. They are eager to express the claim that "we are the same as you." But for contemporary Chinese, this appeal is very boring: China does not need America’s recognition. In essence, this movie is like a humble pleading, surrendering to the American racist and the mainstream white society: You see, we can also be rich, we can be as elegant and noble as you are, civilized and reasonable. But China’s mainstream society has never thought of being inferior. On the contrary, the Chinese have a great sense of superiority, which does not come from the blood, but from the glorious past and the successful present and the bright future. The Chinese despise the so-called "political correctness" of the United States for ethnic minorities. They are addicted to respecting ethnic minorities in word games, but are indifferent to improving their political and economic treatment in practical action. The Chinese believe that this is the way that the dominant white people use to satisfy their own moral vanity, and, is also destroying a once great civilization. Our people can't appreciate this movie, just like can't taste McDonald's Sichuan hot sauce. As a Sichuanese, the spicy sauce is “insult” to the food that I am proud of in my hometown.

What are the things that only Indians say?

Would you like a cold drink? Not a soda, not an aerated drink. We drink only “cold” drinks.2. I am going out of station. We don’t like to travel. We like going out of station.3. What is your good name?Shubh naam, anyone?4. Side, please. You mean: ‘Excuse me!’?5. Will you do fraandship with me? Plz...NO!6. Can we prepone the meeting? This one we love - makes total sense (and should officially be added to the Oxford English Dictionary) :-)7. Entry from back.Er, no. We’re not talking about R-rated stuff. It’s usually shop signage that proudly declares this.9. I proposed to her.Contrary to popular belief, proposed should only only be used in reference to marriage - and not when you’re asking someone out.10. I have to tell you a non-veg joke!!!Go ahead, tell us a dirty joke!11. I got my chums. She means she got her period.12. You cheater cock! This one is left over from our schooldays.13. What is the most 'non-Indian' thing about you?

I am not a believer of ‘Mera Bharat Mahan’ (‘My country is great’). You can label me an anti-national but honestly, I strongly believe that there is a LOT of stuff wrong in this country and we're certainly NOT ‘great’.Just because a person is elder, doesn't make me respect him. Respect is earned through a person's morals and not through how many years a person has spent on Earth.I don't go crazy when I see white people. Seriously, a lot of people act like they have seen a three eyed alien when they come across Westerners.I am a boy and I am a strong believer in feminism and LGBTQ+ rights. It's sad when I realise that most people here don't even know what LGBTQ+ stands for.I believe that sex education is a must for children. By trying to hide a natural act, we only increase their curiosity, which leads them to learn about sex from shady sources, due to which they grow up having wrong ideas about sex and sexuality.I value punctuality. As a child, my parents were quite laidback about dropping me off to school on time and I HATED reaching late. Nowadays, I am usually the first one to reach college.I don't like most of the Punjabi ‘rap’ songs. Last time I tried to force it on myself, I almost died from the sheer torture of looking at flashy clothes and listening to cringey lyrics. I am still recovering from that nightmare. With such habits, there are times when I feel that I am a Westerner trapped in an Indian body. Also, I would like to point out that in no way have I tried to offend any ‘Indian’. There’s just no sugarcoating on my words.

How long does a traditional indian wedding ceremony take?

That's quite a problem. Maybe you should find out what part of the Greek wedding it is that he wants. I'm from a similar ethnic background, and I can tell you I would not want to just have it any Christian church. There's a culture in addition to the religious aspects, and there are certain traditions that occur during the ceremony that are important. Maybe both of you should make a list of the actual items that are important to you. Then combine as necessary. As an example, you could have a hindu style ceremony, but with entirely Greek food and also incorporating a couple Greek traditions into the ceremony. My fiance and I are also from two cultures. We are having an outdoor wedding where several of his cultures traditions are going to be in the ceremony, and several of mine will be in the reception. The venue and officiant are both non-denominational. The program is going to explain each cultures traditions to the guests so they know what's happening (and what they're eating!), and the significance of it. I'll be honest, your situation will be more difficult that most since Hindu and Greek ceremonies are about as different as can be. Make it clear to your guests (and each other) that you want to cherish both traditions. You'll have to make some sacrifices, but you may find some traditions in his culture that have meaning for you and will be better than the perfect Hindu wedding. This will be uniquely your wedding. :)

My wife wants me to sleep with HER mother (my mother in law)?

*******First off, please take the time to read the whole thing, as it wont take long because I've bullet-pointed the main parts.*******

I know this sounds kinda out of the ordinary and so many will just think troll. I urge you, if you think I'm trolling, to not reply.

Okay, so, I'm 28 and my wife is 26, we will have been married for two years next month. We are an average, English, non-religious couple who plan on having kids in the next couple of years.

I'll just provide the main points:
-Yesterday, she suggested I slept with her mother
-Reason: She was talking to her mother about her mother's sex life (or lack of)
-Her mother hasn't had sex in 'A while' (she never married and has been out of a relationship for 9 years)

My wife wants me to sleep with her because:
-She knows her mother will enjoy it and so wont need to face the possibility of going through a bunch of random men to find one that satisfies her
-She can obviously trust me not to turn out to be a psycho killer (so comfort and familiarity basically)
-Her mother has agreed as she can see that I'm an attractive man
-Her mother really lacks confidence
-Her mother is a busy woman and really doesn't need the drama a man may bring if things get complicated

May I just stree that her mother has agreed to, and is happy with, this arrange ment

Where I stand on the matter:
-Find it weird that a mother and daughter talk about sex
-Don't really find her mum attractive (admittedly never stopped me before - before my wife)
-I don't really like the idea of sex with a 51 year old woman, or anyone apart from my wife for that matter
-Slightly creeped out that anyone would offer their husband to have sex with anyone, especially their own mum
-Find it weird that a mother would agree to have sex with her daughter's husband

How do you guys see this? Don't really want replies from horny males saying 'Yeah go for it I know I would' just to fuel their own perverse minds. I'd mainly like female perspective on things. Would you ever offer the same to your own mother, would you ever agree to the same with your daughter's husband? Why would my wife do this? She really is the kind that hates the idea of sex outside of the marriage, swinging etc, and so do I. I'm really not sure what I should do..

Thanks if you read it all,

~MC.

What are some things I should keep in mind before going to college?

Manipal University Jaipur is still developing, and that allows one to explore a lot many diverse vistas! So do not be nervous and relax! As people stated before me, since you are in IT, knowing basic programming languages is a must.I am sure you’ll grasp the study bit as and when the college starts, so I will instead elaborate on extra curriculars. The college has a great Photography club called Aperture, a music club and a dramatics club among many other. Do join atleast one of them in which you have interest as sitting in your room watching TV shows post college hours is a waste. If you play any instrument etc, do get them to college. You will get ample chances to perform !Hostels rooms (as you might already have seen) are quite good. You can carry an induction plate and electric kettle but checking happens regularly for first year students.MUJ crowd consists of a lot of delhi people and hence there is a lot of partying in Jaipur whenever its someone’s birthday and all so perhaps you’d like to carry your dresses and all that!If you play any sports like badminton, tennis, basketball or table tennis, do get your rackets et al, we have good courts. The library is good for study related books but totally sucks when it comes to some read-worthy novels, so if you like to read, carry your own !The city is 30 kms away and so you will have to get used to living without the amenities one would expect from a metro city. You can travel to city by a cab/auto/low floor bus but in first year you would only get time for this on weekends.I really do not know what else to tell you w.r.t. lifestyle changes. If you have any doubts you can contact me. I passed out of MUJ last year, I am sure i can help you out.

What is the most shocking Muslim conversion that you have seen?

It's got to be Hazrat Khalid bin Waleed R.A.He fought against Muslims and was the commander of Non-Muslims in battle of Uhud. His tactics in this war costed Muslims a lot.His brother had already accepted Islam,he too accepted Islam and then the world experienced the most intelligent commander ever.He would just jump into the battlefield like an ordinary soldier and would fight fearlessly but he never died in the battlefield,he wished for it a lot.He was the commander of Muslims in almost 100 small or large wars and he won all, lost none. When he was on his death bed a person came to visit him and he asked him to pick the cloth of his right leg and see if there is one hand apart space where there is no wound, the man did that and found no space. The legs was all covered with wounds. The person repeated the same with left leg, right hand and left hand and then the chest.Hazrat Khalid R.A then said, “This is how much I tried to get martyred in Battlefield.”But how can Saif ullah die in a battlefield?Holy Prophet pbuh gave him title of saif ullah meaning sword of Allah and sword of Allah can't be broken by anyone except him.So he died a natural death. This is what those Wahhabis of ISIS has done to his grave,This again shows the hatred of ISIS for Islamic heroes.
