If you could have any quote tattooed, what would it be and why?

Tattoo Idea and Quote help?
The first image would be good for a tattoo. I like the second image but it is extremely detailed and since the quote is more important in this case than the image, I think I would rather get a simpler image to draw more attention to the quote. As for the quote, that really depends on your preference. I personally like, "Through the mud and the blood to the green fields beyond" and "Patriotism is when love of your own people comes first; nationalism, when hate for people other than your own comes first." I think you could do the quote on the bottom or the top, or since this is a circular image, you could even get it written around it. I would probably do the quote on top and then the swords and Canadian maple leaf without the background, and maybe you could put your name or something to do with you being a part of RCD, like the year or something underneath it. In the end it is all up to you, but your tattoo artist will most likely have some good ideas and suggestions to offer as well.

Can I get a name tattoo covered up with a quote tatoo?
In most cases I’d say no unless you incorporate the quote into another design that would work as a cover up. Ideally (at least to me) you don’t want the new tattoo to look like a coverup. Try writing the name on a piece of paper then writing over it. Chances are it’ll look a bit messy trying to cover letters with letters. Now if you can incorporate the name into the quote then that’s a thought. Jonny Depp’s infamous “Winona” to “Wino” tat comes to mind, or one I saw in person on a dude that came into my shop awhile back. He had his ex’s name “Heather” and had the “r” turned into an “n” to spell “Heathen”. I thought that one was pretty cool, as well as clever. Just some thoughts on it. Go talk to a few artists you like and they should be able to help you brainstorm some ideas. Good luck!
