Tell Me About Yourself Accounting For High School Student

Do I have to study economics and accounting in high school before going to business school?

Not necessarily no. If your HS offers those kind of courses you would only be helping yourself. Additionally, if your school offers AP versions you would double your benefit by receiving credit applicable towards your college of choice. This would save you time and money. However if you want to enjoy the variety offered by your HS and wait to specify until college that's probably ok too. Odds are you are going to change your major at some point like many students do so pinning yourself too early may limit your choices.

What do you learn in an Accounting class in high school?

I took accounting in high school and it was very easy. The math involved is not complicated, its mostly adding. We learned about accounting principles, balance sheets, and taxes. The rest of your classes seem relatively easy so i dont think you would need another studyhall to keep up with the workload. Accounting would benefit you in the future, especially since your looking to run your own business. You may not need to hire a bookkeeper if you know how to manage your own books. Even if you dont become a busines owner its still a valuable class. Plus its easy. Im glad i took it.

Being a competent accountant in the 21st century = being computer literate. Believe it.

In college, you need 1st year accounting, 2nd year accounting (called "intermediate accounting" also the "meat grinder" or "bear" that separates the accountants from the lazy students), the cost accounting, advanced accounting (= the stuff that used to be in intermediate accounting but got booted upstairs because there is so much to cover in intermediate classes!), tax accounting, business law and other business courses. Take calculus in high school?

I think your answer depends on what you want to do in college. Calculus is a required class at most colleges for majors in the sciences (engineering, chemistry, biology....), so its best to have a good background in calculus. Most any classes in the liberal arts, you'll be fine with a stats or accounting class.

I accidentally said ''lol'' to my teacher in an email...fine or no?

To be exact, I'm a senior in high school, who said this:

''Lol yea
And I want to do accounting when I get older.''

But then shortly after I sent the email, I realized I said lol, and kinda said to myself, ''Oops....I don't know if I should be using acronyms in emails to my teachers...Oh well...what's done is done....''

I mean, she replied (said nothing about it) and we continued our conversation, and she's young so I guess she understood, but yea, is it fine or not, honestly?
