In Vedic astrology, in Ascendant sign 1st house represents about person itself and opposite to it is 7th house which is of spouse. In birth chart check what is the sign placed in 1 and 7th house, also check which planets are placed in which planets are giving aspect to these houses. write all these things in separate paper. Now see how many planets are benefice and malefic. Also same way check position of 2nd house (it is known as family house) and 11th house (fulfilment of desire). Now in same way check similar houses in D9 chart (Navmasha chart - minute reading chart for marriage purpose). Then check current transit of planets - mainly position of Jupiter, Saturn and Rahu. Also check Mahadasha and antardasha planets. In general 1st, 2nd, 7th and 11th lords Mahadasha or antardasha gives indiction of period of marriage.
