The Doctor Suggested I Take Calcuim W Vitamin D Along W Multivitamins And Folic Acid . I Had Two

Prenatal Vitamins and Folic Acid??

"Folic acid, sometimes called folate, is a B vitamin (B9) found mostly in leafy green vegetables like kale and spinach, orange juice, and enriched grains. Repeated studies have shown that women who get 400 micrograms (0.4 milligrams) daily prior to conception and during early pregnancy reduce the risk that their baby will be born with a serious neural tube defect (a birth defect involving incomplete development of the brain and spinal cord) by up to 70%."

Prenatal should have the right mix so that you don't have to take extra of anything.... look at the ingredients in your pills to make sure you're getting this! Once morning sickness kicks in, they say that additional vitamin B will help ease the sickness - but it's not necessary!! I would also recommend cranberry juice or cranberry pills.... I'd never in my life had a UTI until I became pregnant, knowing how easy it to get these, how awful they are, and tips to help prevent them in advance would have been nice!

Have you visited your doctor for a preconception visit yet? They'll be able to give you all the info. you need.

Can we take vitamins and multivitamin capsules along with homeopathy?

Can take vitamin capsules during Homeo treatment. That does not have any link with it.One may not digest the full energy from vitamin capsules. The assimilation depends on the individual. When the food or vitamin consumed cannot be converted to a useful item by our digestion sytem it goes as a waste. Best way to take vitamin is from food item. Our Body cannot take a specific vitamin from every food item that we eat. It has its own preferences. Eat the food that contains a specific vitamin that your body accepts and your comfortable.

Can I take my Prenatal Vitamins (Materna) and Folic Acid together?

I'm 6 weeks pregnant and just started taking my prenatal vitamins today. I saw my Doctor yesterday and he suggested taking Materna AND Folic Acid, but I am also aware that Materna already contains Folic Acid? Is this necessary? Could it be bad for me?
Also I usually take Vitamin C and D supplements, but I'm now wondering if I need to take those anymore either... or if the Materna and Folic Acid are enough?
Does Materna and Folic Acid have any side effects? Just curious.

Thanks!

- Provides vitamin D3 to support calcium absorption to assist with baby’s healthy bone development.

- Provides omega-3 essential fatty acids to promote baby’s healthy brain & visual development.

No problem at all. You are not even close to the overdose level. One a day is enough and two a day is overdoing it and is not recommended.

Out of Potassium, Folic Acid, & Calcium+Vitamin D supplements, which one could cause my urine to have an odor?

Perhaps it's the calcium + vitamin D supplement?

Urine odor is related to the volume and concentration of a variety of chemicals excreted by the kidney. Normally, diluted urine doesn't have much odor. If you're dehydrated and your urine becomes highly concentrated, it can have a strong ammonia smell. Many foods and medications — such as asparagus or certain vitamins — also can affect the odor of urine.

Most changes in urine odor are temporary and don't indicate serious illness. But sometimes an unusual urine odor can be associated with an underlying medical condition, such as a urinary tract infection. If you're concerned about the odor of your urine, talk to your doctor.

Urine odor Potential medical causes
Strong ammonia smell Not enough fluids, dehydration
Foul smelling Bacterial infection of the kidneys or bladder
Sweet smelling Uncontrolled diabetes
Musty smelling Liver disease; phenylketonuria, a rare, inherited metabolic condition

Vitamins during the 2nd trimester.?

hello all am 15w4d pregnant, in my 1st prenatal appointment my Dr put me on vitamins called PregnaPlan, they have 40mg iron, Omega3 & 6 and 400 folic acid, calcium 100mg. Now my Dr prescribed more vitamins which contains 75mg vitamin C, 500 folic acid, 36mg Iron, 4mg Zinc, and last 600mg calcium. Does this sound like a lot if vitamins or its normal?

Can I take Folic Acid and Calcium at the same time?

Iron and calcium compete for absorption, not folic acid and calcium nor folic acid and iron (yes calcium and folic acid can be taken at the same time, just not your prenatal vitamin - and you should be taking one - with your calcium supplement, and take vitamin D with the calcium).
