A little R&S game?
I would love to have the chance to give some things to very special people here: I would love to take Kallan, Stephen, Corcra, Meerkatz, Praire Crow, Ariel, Ymmo and Epona (and anyone else from my contacts who wanted to come) on a sunrise nature walk through the desert where I live, and then to a sunset fire circle in the nearly Angeles Crest Mountains. With drumming around the fire, so we have to add in Sunman, Sèimerthyr, and Woogleboo/Becky (and any other hand drum players I've forgotten to mention), I would love to be able to meet and simply have a long, gentle hug with EyeLovesJesus, digilook, PMBI, Don H, Uncle Wayne, you, Paladin, Gandalf, Laptop Jesus, Vicarious Cynic, Universal Pants, Gaila's Random Thoughts, Catherine E, and Thrice Baked. Not all at once, though - I'm a big fan of group hugs, but that would be ridiculous! And if I could, I would love to host a wedding for Thrice Baked and her beloved....as it is, we'd all have to settle for a handfasting. Most of all I would love to have a home big enough so that each and every one of my contacts could all be in the same place at the same time, and I could cook for all of them - hopfully with others joining in, because cooking with others is one of my very favorite things! And I could learn so much!!!!. ~wistful sigh~ EDIT: *getting teary-eyed* Thank you, dear friend. I hope you know that your encouragement means so much to me, and your support and unconditional love.
Really fun (and a little bit risque?) baby shower games? It's a couples shower?
her hubby I hope- not yours! a fun one I always hear of is a beer drinking contest- ask all the guys who wants to participate in a beer drinking game then they will all say yes- then pull out the baby bottles filled with beer! see who finishes first. another funny one is getting teams of two- a guy and a girl- then blindfold them. while they are blindfolded pin a few safety pins all over their bodies (backs, legs, butts, where ever!) then they have to feel each other up to find all the pins. it's a lot harder than it sounds- those pins can blend into fabrics real good. have a timer going for each person and see who has the fastest time to find them all (try to limit it to like 5 or so pins) have a tree of wisdom- get some branches from outside and stick them into a vase to look like a tree (you can do a mommy tree and a daddy tree) then make cutouts of a baby shape (like a bottle or teddy bear or something) on either blue or pink paper (for mommy and daddy trees) then hang them from the tree with pieces of pipe cleaners, twist ties or even Christmas tree hooks. then each guest will write down words of wisdom for the new parents on the shapes and read out loud during the party and they can take them home to keep as a memento. these are great for centerpieces also, they look real pretty.
Reduce/Remove Dark Under Eye Circles?
it's not hereditary... i guess there are 2 causes of my dark under eye circles: 1. when i was in college i don't get enough sleep... but now, i sleep more than 8 hrs at night! 2. low blood pressure (?)... my BP is 90/50 and i sometimes experience slight headaches and dizziness
What went wrong with Yahoo? It was once worth almost $125 billion, but today sold to Verizon for $5 billion.
There is no one single reason that Yahoo "went wrong", which I assume means that they aren't seen as one of the top couple of internet companies like they once were. There are product reasons, strategic reasons, and cultural reasons. Some top of mind examples though:Focusing so much for years on Panama (Google Adwords competitor) and search in general, when they ended up losing to Google and eventually outsourcing this to Microsoft.Becoming too unfocused. Yahoo tried to do everything and triggered the famous Peanut Butter Manifesto from Brad Garlinghouse that summarized this problem well.The shift from a desktop world where everyone used home pages to a mobile and social world. Yahoo failed to build their own successful mobile and social products or to acquire any. Yahoo got too bloated, and nobody would ever make the cuts needed to both headcount and its products/properties.Buying Flickr, then letting it languish. Buying Flickr for $35 million was a bargain when you see how huge social photos are today. They could have turned Flickr into the next Facebook or Instagram and instead didn't invest properly in it.Failing to acquire Google and then Facebook. Yahoo had opportunities to buy both of these companies when it was clear they were going to be big successes and instead wouldn't pay what was needed. For example, they had a deal to buy Facebook for $1.1 billion pretty much accepted, then Yahoo's earnings came out and the value of the deal dropped to 800M due to stock compensation and Zuckerberg balked when Yahoo wouldn't change the deal to put the price back up. Think about the value of Facebook today and that Yahoo didn't acquire them over a $300M difference.Leadership changes. Looking at companies like Google and Facebook you'll see that the same leadership has essentially been in place the whole time. Yahoo has had a shifting cast of CEOs and executive teams that has never provided a longer term vision and execution path to take shape.Acceptance of lower quality employees. By the time I worked at Yahoo from 2007-2010, there were still a ton of great A-quality people there, but there were also a lot of B or C-quality people who were not outstanding at their work. This starts to eat away at the company and make the A-players go work elsewhere.There are more reasons, but these provide a good summary...
TF2 and other steam games not launching properly?
I've been having problems with launching TF2 and a few other steam games for about a year now.I've gotten a virus after downloading TF2 mods and had to get rid of it (which I did),but afterwards whenever I try to launch a steam game (TF2/Garry's Mod),my mouse has the little loading circle for a few seconds, and the "preparing to launch _______" shows up, but then both of those go away and the game never appears.If I try to launch the game a second time,the error message "Failed to start game (app already running)" shows up.Even though the tab of the game doesn't show up whats so ever.Lastly,for some strange reason,this problem doesn't affect all my steam games.This problem only effects 2/3 of my total steam games,with the 2 games being TF2 and Garry's Mod.While on the other hand,my Team Fortress Classic game doesn't have any problems at all. Anybody have a clue on how to fix this?
Creative circle time activity?
I'm applying to be a preschool teacher (for 3 year olds) and part of the interview process is conducting a circle time activity. I know a lot of the past candidates have simply read a book and asked questions about it, but I want to think of something a little more out of the box than that. I am not opposed to reading a book if I can find a really creative way to go about it (like a related group activity after or during). I don't really want to do a finger play or song because I will be watched by a group of adults and I'd feel very nervous singing in front of that many people. Does anybody have any really creative circle time activity ideas? I'm thinking something like a game or any other creative idea that would really incorporate the children with their participation.

Does Yahoo! have any Easter eggs?
There's a little game you can play in the Yahoo News Digest App. Go to the settings menu and tap the circles on top. They will roll around and you have to get them back in their cups. It's actually fun. Note: this news digest app also won many awards and is really worth using every day to catch up on the daily headlines. There is a new Easter Egg today in the iOS versions of Yahoo weather. It's a snow globe effect that produces snow, eventually a snow plow, and if you are lucky a yeti or two. The weather app is gorgeous. It won a coveted design award from Apple, and a new iPad version was just released. Not only does it show the weather (of course) it shows a photo of your location with the corresponding weather and time of day from Flickr (check it out to see what I mean). If you are a good photographer who takes amazing shots of your town you can get your photo added to the Project Weather group on Flickr.
