The monarch of german overthrown after that country defeat in world war 1 was _______.?

Kaiser Wilhelm II.

What happened to the German royal family after World War I? Is there anyone still alive from the family today?

Kaiser Wilhelm II was sent into exile in the Netherlands.  He lived there, waiting for the day when someone would restore the monarchy to Germany, which was a serious possibility into the 1930's.  When he learned of Hitler's wars and rapid expansion, he was ecstatic and demanded that Hitler give him control of the nation.  He also was angered by the mistreatment of his Jewish "subjects" - he still believed in the Jewish plot of causing the two world wars paradoxically enough.  Obviously he was ignored.  However, when the Netherlands was occupied, he was given an honor guard to watch him, something which angered Hitler.  Wilhelm died on June 4, 1941, just before the invasion of Russia and was given a military funeral.  Also, one of his sons and 8 grandsons served in the war and when his grandson also named Wilhelm was killed in France, he had a funeral attended by 50,000 people, the largest gathering not sanctioned by the Nazi Party in many years.Today, there are still many descendants.  The current head of House Hohenzollern is the dashing young Georg Friedrich, Wilhelm II's great-great-grandson.

With regards to countries like France and Germany, why does the UK still have a monarchy?

France abolished its monarchy after the Revolution in 1789, after which it alternated between empire, republic and monarchy until the declaration of the Third Republic in 1870, remaining a republic ever since.Germany’s monarchy was abolished in 1919 following the abdication of the Kaiser in the wake of military defeat in the First World War and a Revolution influenced by the one that took place in Russia in 1917.The last republic in what is now the UK was the Commonwealth of England, Scotland and Ireland between 1649 and 1659, under Oliver Cromwell the Lord Protector, who had overthrown and executed King Charles I.However, his ‘Protectorate’, which lasted from 1653 and 1659, was not a parliamentary democracy but a military dictatorship with Cromwell ruling for life, and not long after his death, the monarch being restored. In addition, Cromwell was a Puritan, meaning that the Protectorate was also a theocracy like Afghanistan under the Taliban, meaning that people were happy to see the back of such a socially and culturally repressive regime.Even when there was a revolution to overthrow the monarchy in 1688, this was to replace one monarch, the Catholic James II, with another, the Protestant William of Orange, not to establish a republic, as in 1649.Over time, this developed into the constitutional monarchy that we have in the UK, which gives us most of the benefits of being a republic, certainly a parliamentary republic, without us ever having to become one.

Why did some European countries turn to Fascism while others stayed democratic after World War 1 and the Depre?

The Countries that turned Fascist were disgruntled with the Treaty of Versailles. Germany had a weak democratic government put into place so they wouldn't be powerful. Italy, although fighting alongside the Allies, felt cheated by the Treaty as well becuase they were not given the lands in Austria-Hungary that they were initially promised. The other countries did not resort to fascism because their governments were already established before the war and not transitional, plus some countries like Poland were benefited by the Treaty and therefore more grateful. Austria Hungary was broken up which lead to individual countries that had their own sovereignty. however during the crisis of trianon, the Territory of Hungary was dramatically shrunk and lands given to Croatia, Slovakia, Rumania, and Serbia. This fostered pro-fascist sentiments when Hitler came to power.

BTW, little trivia, after ww1, Hungary lost is coastal line after losing territory to croatia but an admiral still retained his title and became leader of hungary.
