Is the world getting better, the same or worse?
There is no 'overall' about it.The world is getting better in a huge amount of ways, mainly from improved standard of living.Go and ask people from the 12th century, most of whom would have lived basically in misery and died at a very young age from a simple illness that could be cured easily today - they would tell you now is better.You'll also notice that you can now freely walk around most countries without fear of being caught up in a war or having your home raided by some horrible bastards. Again a vast improvement upon a time when it was a free for all and people would just run around killing each other (in all places in the world).If you're accused of doing a crime, you can get a fair trial.If you're a woman you can vote or get a job.If you're black you're not (neccesarily) a slave or abused or killed.Would you advocate removing these rights for people, for any reason at all?If the answer is no, then like I say there is no 'overall' about it. If you say the world was better before - you're saying it was better that black people used to be treated like second class citizens.There are some flip sides, it's not all good. But then you have no choice but to take the good with the bad.It's called the law of Unintended consequences. Basically it means there is no such thing as an overall 'best' world, or perfect solution to any problem.What you're doing is known as Splitting (psychology) where you're trying to make the world either one thing or the other to be able to make sense of it. This is just the human need to categorise and label though. The reality is that the world is everything at the same time - in some ways the world is better now, in some ways it's probably worse.
Do you think the world would be a better or worse place 100 years from now? why?
I think it is getting better. I disagree with the others who say it is getting worse, because for example in the past, you'd be burned because of your thoughts. but no one will be hurt because his opinion now. so that is good. of course it's just a simple example out of a million, and it's not completely so everywhere.

Extreme weather, droughts and floods will be playing havoc with their ability to feed themselves. Food prices will be trending upwards despite new advances in biotechnology, because land suitable for growing will be diminishing.The wealthy, in all parts of the world, will have greater opportunities to protect themselves from these trends. They'll have a larger share of the wealth and greater freedoms to use the increased technology and productivity to make their lives more pleasurable and interesting. Everyone else will be busy firefighting, faced with unstable economies, insecure jobs, unstable weather and periodic resource crunches.

Medical advancement results in longer human life and more humans alive than dead (apparently!)Lifestyle: Definitely better! We can live more comfortably than ever. Travel has become easy. Everything is at our fingertips. People were never so connected, yet disconnected.Harmony: Definitely going downhill. We are more into ourselves that care about collective us. We get to hear more of “I” than “Us”. The art of living together in harmony will never be known to the new generations because we present to them an example of self centered society in which everyone lives for themselves and not for the society as a whole. Our harmony with nature is vanishing.Humanity: Considering present morals and superstitions we are going nowhere. No one seems to agree with anyone.
