Saudi Arabia is named after a family. What other states in history have been named after individuals or families?

Actually the tradition of linking countries and people's names to individuals and families is quite ancient. Case and point Greece.Greece in Greek is Hellas. Hellas, according to myth, takes its name after an individual called "Hellen" son of Deucalion the first man to repopulate the earth after the Deluge. He is what is called an "eponymous hero" i.e. the hero after which a tribe/people were named. This was very common among Greeks. Deucalion's extended family included the eponymous heroes of several Greek people and tribes: i.e. "Dorus" of the Dorians, "Ion" of the Ionians, "Aeolus" of the Aeolians, "Magnis" of the Magnesians and "Macedon" of the Macedonians. They even extended the practice to neighboring people for example inventing a "Dardanus" as founder of the Dardanians and a Thrax as founder of the Thracians. I am no expert but to my untrained eyes this practice is probably a remnant of older tribal organizations.

What images best display the extraordinary beauty/wonders of nature?

I agree with most of the answers here and would like to add few more. Meteor showers (also, it is a great pleasure to be able to see a clear sky from a place which is pollution free and really dark)RaindropsFor me, raindrops means a multitude of good things such as petrichor, coolness and relief (specially after a dry summer), freshness (everything looks washed and clean after a rain) and vibrant rainbows. And one of the best display is when these sparkly little diamond like droplets settle on leaves, grasses, flowers or spider webs, giving a sublime feeling.BioluminiscenceBioluminiscent marine life seems something ethereal, non-earthly. The beauty is just majestic.Guttation (exudation of drops of xylem sap on the tips or edges of leaves of some vascular plants, such as grasses)Frost flowers (a condition in which thin layers of ice are extruded from long-stemmed plants in autumn or early winter)Peacocks and butterfliesPeacocks are one of the most beautiful birds of paradise. The best stance of a peacock is when he is in a mood to mate. He raises his long colorful tail feathers into the air and shakes them.Butterflies are very vibrant species. Their colorful wings are a treat to the eyes. There are many more such examples , some of them being snowfall, salt marshes, canyons, etc. Clearly, nothing can match nature when it comes to beauty and  wonder.

Difference between Hinduism and Christianity?

Before I begin, I am neither a Christian nor a Hindu.
Will some one please explain to me why in school Hinduism is classified as a polytheistic religion while Christianity is not. The Christian Trinity runs on the same principle that Hinduism does; in Christianity there are three parts to one God (Father, Son, Spirit) whereas in Hinduism there are thousands of parts to one God (Shiva, Krishna, etc). Despite the difference in number it's the same principle. One of the religions is either classified wrongly, or my interpretation is off (if it is point to my mistakes and validate your point with sources).

Question About Slavery and the Civil War?

To Knowledge: The Civil War was clearly about slavery. The South secceeded from the Union because the north tried to say that no new states can have slaves and that slavery was bad. The South finally got fed up with the North's meddling in its affairs. Abolitionists like John Brown became terrorists and attacked trains with Southerners on them in Harper's Ferry.

As far as what incentive did a Southern soldier have, well, for one, he didn't want free blacks to compete with him for jobs. That is the most basic incentive anyone could have. When is the last time anyone who replied to my question quit his/her job to graciously give it someone else more needy?

None of your arguments make any sense. I still don't know what a northern white guy's incentive was during the Civil War.
