It is a thin layer to even out skin tone and texture. It could be light, medium or full coverage. It comes in liquid, cream, stick or powder forms.Concealer is a more localized cover. You use it to conceal dark circles, acne and other discolouration. Just where needed. You can also use it in a slightly lighter colour than your foundation to highlight certain areas, or slightly darker to contour.It comes in cream, stick or liquid forms. I have seen powder concealers once or twice, but I think that’s just BS. Concealer is normally medium to full coverage because you are trying to completely conceal whatever is beneath. You can also get colour correcting concealer to wear underneath regular concealer. Like green to colour correct acne. Or orange to colour correct beard shadow.Normally concealer goes on after foundation, if you’re using liquid or cream of both, and before setting powder. Some people do concealer first, but it tends to slide around when you put on foundation, exposing the areas you were trying to cover. If you’re colour correcting, you do that first, before foundation or concealer.You can also use just foundation or just concealer alone. No need for the full beat all the time if you’d rather a more natural look.
Can you use foundation as concealer?
Yes. The liquid. Just blot it evenly, rather than thinning as one usually would. Works for hickies in the work place! Then cover with power.

Should I apply concealer or foundation first?
We all crave for a flawless skin complexion and that can only be achieved by using foundation and concealer. It won’t look cakey this way because obviously if you apply two thick layers of foundation as well as the coats concealer, it causes creasing and creates a heavy look.Before applying a concealer, always moisturize your skin with a light weight moisturizer to provide enough hydration to the skin so that it becomes soft. You can use the eye cream as well for the better results, you don’t need to apply the moisturizer.A little dab is required to cover any spot. Don’t apply too much, it can look cakey. Always take less quantity, just dab little bit and you can always add up more if required.Always use your ring finger or a small fluffy concealer brush to apply the concealer on the spot. If you are applying it under your eyes, don’t apply too close to your eyes. Wait for two minutes and then set the concealer with the help of setting powder.Blending is the key: Always blend your concealer well but don’t rub. Just pat it nicely enough and apply it on the spot and around the spot. Can you use a lighter foundation as a concealer?
You can use your foundation as a concealer but it will work best if you just put a thin coat of the foundation all over your skin then go back in and add a little more product to the spots that need more coverage. Adding moisturizer would actually do the opposite and make the foundation less pigmented and wont cover much. Hope this helps :D
