How do you make your face less puffy?

Puffy face is the result of water retention around your facial features especially the eyes, nose and cheeks. There are quite a few reasons behind getting a puffy face.Allergic reaction to some medication.Blocked sinuses.Excessive dehydration of the skin.Reaction to excess alcohol.Lack of sleepExcess sodium/salt intake. If you have an allergic reaction then check with a doctor immediately. However if it is more a cosmetic problem of water retention, then try these things to reduce facial puffiness. If you see puffy face in the morning, the first thing you should do is to splash it with some cold water. You can also apply a cold compress to the face.Drink at least 2 glasses of water infused with lemon to re-hydrate your skin.Do some exercise where you sweat out. This will also bring your skin under control and balance your skin.Avoid excessive alcohol which dehydrates skin and eating too much salt at night. Both are the leading culprits in causing facial bloating.Use a light facial oil and massage your skin gently in upward strokes to drain the cavities.Apply a firming or toning face mask to bring some tone to your face.If you have to go out, then use subtle makeup techniques to reduce puffiness. Avoid too much of makeup and use as much neutral colours as possible. You can use a good moisturiser along with some concealer even out your skin’s texture. Contour your cheeks with an earth-toned blush and apply winged liner to draw out your eyes. Avoid eyeshadow. A nude pink lipstick should complete your look.

Does Drinking make your face puffy?

Yup, drinking too much alcohol causes fluid retention -- see below to find out why. Aside from not drinking, you can help the water leave your body faster by drinking a MILD diuretic tea like Yogi Detox. Don't use a strong diuretic, and don't stop drinking water, because doing these things will make you dehydrated, which in turn causes more fluid retention. You should also try not to eat really salty foods for awhile.

Why do our faces look puffy in the morning just after waking up?

The simplest cause of puffiness is simply the pressure on your face while you sleep for hours, especially if you don't turn much in your sleep. This will naturally go away as you wake up, but you can help the process by applying a cool, wet cloth to your face. Other common causes are:Water Retention: The most common reason for a puffy face in the morning is fluid retention. The best way to avoid this is to limit alcohol and salt (sodium) intake and, perhaps counter-intuitively, drink more water to flush out the system.Allergic Reactions: A common cause of puffiness in the morning is an allergic reaction. Check for possible allergies, including allergies to feathers in your pillow or the material of your pillowcase, by changing them to a different type for a few days.Lotions and Creams: One cause of puffiness is sensitive skin's reaction to lotions or creams applied to the face before bed. Discontinue use of all products for a few days to see if puffiness goes away. Steroid creams are particularly noted for causing this.Pillow Height: Sometimes puffiness is caused by the level of your pillow while you are sleeping, causing either pressure or water retention. Try sleeping with two pillows to help fluids drain properly instead settling in your head and neck areas. If this is painful or causes a crick in your neck, try an orthopaedic or 'comfort' pillow.Medical Conditions: Problems of the endocrine system, particularly hypothyroidism, which also causes weight gain and decreases energy, can cause morning puffiness. See a doctor if you think this might be the cause.

How do I redue a puffy face after I've eaten too many carbs and sodium so it will go down for tomorrow?

If you have oatmeal (Old-fashioned kind) and plain yougurt, mix them together, spread on your face, leave on for 30 minutes, and wash it of with a warm (Not hot!) cloth. It should feel cool on your face. However, if the puffyness seems to hurt, call a doctor. You could have a rare but serious disease.

Face swelling...only 24 weeks?

With my first I started swelling at about 4 months. By 7 months I was soooooo swollen. My feet looked and felt like water balloons, I couldn't wear my rings...my nose, eyes, etc...always looked puffy. I also had what they called pitted edema (where you could press my foot and it would dent in and then slowly take it's water balloon shape back. No matter what I did the swelling NEVER went down. I had to go to the doctor constantly to make sure I didn't have preeclampsia (http://www.preeclampsia.org/about.asp). My doctor was very cautious because preeclampsia, and eclampsia are very serious conditions that can lead to many problems including early labor. Make sure your doctor is checking you constantly. Fortunately I never had it...I was just a sweller. 2 weeks after I had my daughter I could see the bones in my feet again...such a happy day. Hopefully you are just a sweller like me...eventhough it isn't life threatening it is VERY annoying. Good Luck, but talk to the doc.

Edit:
Well I was swollen 24/7...morning, noon, night. Has he tested your for preeclampsia? If not I would ask for that test. If he has then you are probably just the same way I was when I was pregnant with #1...a giant water balloon and miserable.
