Random number keeps calling my cellphone?
It's in my area cod and when I Googled it, Myrtle Beach, SC pops up. It started calling once I got out of school, and like I was told by my parents not to respond to numbers I don't know. I hung up. They kept calling back, then eventually texted me "this is tonya wyd". I texted back that I didn't know a "Tonya" and to stop calling this number. They called a few more times before stopping. Now as I'm trying to sleep, I get three calls from the same number. I haven't told my parents yet, but I defiantly will in the morning. I'm scared to send a text about calling the police on them because I don't know what they will say. I've tried call blocker apps but they're not really working. And I can't turn my phone off because I have an alarm set for me to wake up. What should I do until morning if they try calling again? I'm a seventeen year old girl, btw.
Keep getting texts from a random number?
Ok well this one number keeps calling and texting me :/. They texted me and said "Why hello there" and i said "whos this" and then they said "who r u?!?!" so now everytime i ask them "no who r u?!" they just respond back with "who r u?!" its getting really annoying and they called me like 5 times last night in the middle of the night while i was asleep -_- and the number has my same area code so I know that the people live in my same city.. So what should I respond?? cuz I know if i ask who they are they'll just say "who r u??" again sorry if this is a stupid question but its just annoying me!! Thanks for the help :]
Restricted Number Keeps Calling Me!?
It's really starting to piss me off. Everyday, same period of school as well as any other random time of the day, a restricted number keeps calling me OVER AND OVER. I'm talking 15 calls at a time!? I answer, and they hang up! Is it wasting my minutes as they call even if I don't answer it? (I have verizon wireless) and also, how do you block restricted numbers from getting to your phone, because this is getting rediculous!
Why are random people getting calls from my number even though I never make those calls and neither do they show in my call log? And how I do stop this?
This may be someone spoofing you, which is changing the caller ID their phone sends so that it's your number. The phone companies allow this; the legitimate use case is for a firm that owns a PBX (basically its own phone system) to set the caller ID to anything it wants, so e.g. returned calls all go to the same number.If the intent of the spoofing is to defraud whoever answers by pretending to be you, it's a crime. You can report it the FCC, see Spoofing and Caller ID .There is, or used to be, an odd attitude in the phone company (I know firsthand about AT&T) that the payer for a phone call gets to control the identifying information. So for caller ID, the person making the call pays, so they get to control the caller ID. ANI is a similar system that identifies the callers of 800 numbers (toll free numbers) to the companies they call. The callers cannot change their ANI information, the stated reason being it's the receiver who pays for the call.
My ex texted me after 5 months of no contact. What does he want?
He is doing this to get something from you which you gave him— validation. Anyone who has dated has received the random text, 6 months, 9 months, even YEARS after the relationship ended. If you haven’t had any contact at all, it’s probably because this person wants some validation from you. A sense of “I can still get them to text me back.” Best case scenario they missed you a little, but not enough to make real contact. Worst case scenario, they are just attention-seekers who scroll their their phone contacts seeking emojis now and then. If you are not interested in maintaining contacts with exes, don’t respond to contact that isn’t substantive.Don’t ask him why he did it. It’s obvious why he did it.
Why do I keep getting random text messages?
I got a new phone, contract and number just under 2 months ago. Since then I have been getting random text messages from numbers and people I do not know, and this has never happened to me before on any other phone or number. For example, early yesterday morning I got "Would u be or do u know anyone that wants wine fags or ghd straighteners for cheap prices.phone me kev johnstone.by the way long time no see". I have never heard of anyone called Kev Johnstone! Then this afternoon I got "Hi its ross s dad. Could you ask him to give me a call, thanks. Hope you are all enjoying youselves" Yet again, I don't have any friends called Ross! Other ones I have got in the past have been from a school using text message reminders, asking a parent to return a letter. Another one I got was from a BMW car dealer in Edinburgh, reminding someone they had a meeting there. They are all completely different numbers, and it's becoming confusing as to why I keep getting these messages! Does anyone have any idea why? Surely it's no coincidence that all these people have the wrong number, and that it happens to be mine...
