What are some ways to make online education more engaging?

Here are some tips from a video production perspective: Use short and easily digestible videos which get to the point quickly.Use videos at the beginning of the course to gain attention of your learners.Videos can be best used for behavioral and procedural training such as ‘what and what not to do’, ‘how and how not to do’.Use the video only if it adds value to or support the content and not just because it’s nice to have one.Enhance the video by summarizing key points / takeaways at logical intervals within the video or at the end of the video.Make sure your LMS supports video. If possible, add ‘close caption’ to your videos (for clarity and compliance).Add interactive elements to the video such as knowledge check questions, so that the learner is not passive but active viewer. Hereis the link to my blog on similar topic.Raptivity, an easy-to-use interactivity building tool,  has a rich collection of  interaction models which help present videos in a variety of interesting ways to engage learners. @Sneh_2005

I have a startup targeting school and vocational training providers, and the sales cycle is long and difficult to get through. How do I improve my chances?

I have experience trying to "get through," during a long sales cycle, and here is my best piece of advice: Target the "low hanging fruit," and get a single USER (not necessarily paying customer). Really work with them to make a product they really love. From there they will forever be promoters for your product, and you can show, with concrete numbers, why your solution is better than others and how it benefitted your one user. This won't guarantee sales in the future, but at the least helps with getting a phone call, getting a response, etc.

Just got hired at this landscaping job. anyone have any tips on how i can be a great landscaper?

I've been in landscaping and lawn care for many years. One thing I've learned is that you'll never work fast enough no matter how hard you work and you'll probably never feel you get paid enough. If you have bosses like I've had haha. But I love the outdoors and what I do. So if you love what you do, then you'll do great. Research stuff yourself. I'm also in lawn care, so I've informed myself on all the tools over the years. And no matter how much you know about this field, you'll always learn more.

Do you need physics for web/graphic design?

Any kid in grade school could be taught to do web pages and graphic design. it may be some weird requirement of a college, training school or a business. But i would say NO you dont need physics for web/graphic designs.

How long does it take to learn SQL without formal education?

You can probably do a lot in a few weeks, if you practice and understand the concepts. Structured Query Language is relatively easy to learn. Simple data querying, and manipulation can probably be done in the first hour. You might have some times when you'll need to refer back for more complex joins, embedded statements, and then getting higher-performing queries and such. Notably, if you're aiming to become a DBA, then there are a lot of different skills outside of SQL. But anyway, you can find some online SQL tutorials that are pretty good starting points at http://www.w3schools.com/sql/default.asp... Good luck!
