What are some tips for time management concerning homework?

When it comes to time management, everyone is different. That being said, there are a few things you can try to see how they impact your homework/study plan productivity.Start using a timer. I like to use time chunking instead of a normal to-do list because when you chunk your time, you give yourself mini deadlines to work towards. I’m a huge fan of the Pomodoro technique and there are loads of great free Pomodoro apps you can download on your phone or computer.Use a good time tracker & site blocker. If you get easily distracted by things online, I’d recommend using RescueTime. You can define what sites & apps count as productive for you, compare your current level of productivity to your past 2 week average, and block distracting sites. This acts as a distraction-remover and a great motivation since you compete against yourself.Find a project/task management app that works for you. I recommend Zenkit, since it’s flexible enough for me to work on my own projects or collaborate with my team on work. Whether you have a big school project to complete, group work to manage, or you need a way to track your study sessions during exams, Zenkit can be a great help.If you’re interested in not only managing your time, but learning new techniques to make better use of that time, I’d suggest you look into improving your note-taking, learning, and memorization skills. I wrote a couple of answers about those here:I want to increase my productivity in learning and memorizing. What should I do to manage a lot of homework?

The key word here is ‘management.’ Here is a helpful roadmap to manage a daunting amount of homework:Location. Science tells us that doing work in your bedroom can actually be detrimental to workflow. We become more tired and less motivated due to the mind’s association with the bedroom as a place for sleep versus work. Try changing up your workspace, whether it is the kitchen table, den, or even a coffee shop or library.Prioritize. Once you settle in a suitable location, take a deep breath and look at the big picture. You can order your work by the amount of time or effort it will take to complete each assignment, by subject, or by due date. One Step at a Time. Once you have prioritized your workload. Try taking on the easiest assignments first. In this way, you can put those worries in the rearview mirror and have a sense of accomplishment as you take on the bigger challenges. If your workload is heavy due to the complex nature of the assignment, log on to TutorMe and get connected with a tutor within 30 seconds in more than 300 subjects. Having a professional on your side can make big challenges seem far more manageable.Break it up. If you attack a monstrous amount of work all at once, you are more likely to burn out early and quit. Try dividing work into 30–45 minute chunks and throw in a small walk or a quick snack break to reset your brain for another round in the ring. You’ll find each little work session far easier than if you take it all on in a single behemoth slugfest.Add on steps (if desired)Stay Ahead. Stay on top of your work and use weekends to get ahead on assignments. This will reduce your workload during the week. Remember, even an hour or two of work on the weekend can be a lifesaver during the week.Recruit a Study Buddy. So long as they are not a distraction, study partners can keep us motivated and give us a sense of teamwork.

How do I manage time between school and coaching classes? There will be a lot of homework for both! I need to take out enough of time for self-study also!

Coaching classes after school takes lot of your time leaving you exhausted and very less time for self study. In order to manage your time properly, you need to have a proper study plan.In my case, I used to devote morning study time before your school for Self Study(Revising and taking up any new topic). After then I would attend school (In case, I am having test next day then I would avoid that) and then go for coaching. I never missed my coaching because of school. But in case of extreme emergency you can do that. After coaching and dinner(and other such formalities), I used to devote my rest of the time in solving the sheets and modules of Catalyser and completing the assignments. If you are wasting time in front of TV or using internet for entertainment then it is waste of time. Please Avoid that.P.S :Set regular targets, and make sure you complete them by the end of the day.All the Best :)

Set aside focused time each day, away from distractions, to get your homework done. You’ll work better and get more done if you’re not interrupted or distracted. Plan it out, how much time do you need each day/wek to spend on homework?Get an hour or so done as soon as you get home, or after you’ve done your chores, relax for a while with friends, family, then perhaps do another hour or half hour. Do you have time, could you make time in the morning?Buddy up with your friends to support each other. Study together as long as this doesn’t distract you.Planning your time and prioritising ‘everything’ you have to do is an important life skill to learn.
