To Dos Someone Do You Need There Ip Or There Routers Mac Address I Am Just Wondering Btw

Is routing encrypted data anonymously, with no IP address possible? How does this work? This is a situation that comes up in the movie Blackhat.

Well as much I have been studied,It's not possible, every data that been routing or routed have their ip addresses cause that's how it works. The data require addresses to do its task, if you not assign any ip it would go for broadcast but still the data should have your source address cause without the source address data couldn't goes on internet.Whereas if it comes to anonymity the anonymous user use proxies which let them help to mask their ip address on internet from different different ISPs ip addresses pools. Where as the best thing is tor. But still using both two of these your packet or data still have ip addresses it masked but it have addresses. So, the correct answer of this question would be logically NO.ButIf we go with anonymity it would be possible,so YES. you have to use TOR or PROXY, VPN for anonymity.Hope this is what you looking for.Happy reading. :)

Does each router have its own IP address that is seen by other websites?

Ok, hopefully I ask this in a simple way.

We have two routers connected to one modem in the house. My computer is on one router, while the family computer is on another. I was wondering if each router has a different IP address that is seen by websites, like when you go to "whatsmyip.org" or such. I was wanting to change my IP manually, as it is dynamic, but I am not sure how to do it. I tried the cmd version and that did not work. I went to the webpage of my router, but I did not want to do the DHCP release/renew yet until I knew for sure so I did not mess up anything. Do I need to unplug the modem to get it to change?

Thanks in advance.

Do IP addresses vary between computers using the same network?

To answer your "Aditional details" section:

As both computers might access the Internet though the same router, only one public address is shown on the Net. When those computers access the same website, such server knows two different 'sources' are connecting to it, though it doesn't necessarily assume it's two computers, as you could use two different web browsers (e.g., Microsoft Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox) on one computer to access the same website and it will be same effect as two different computers accessing the same website.

What will the Web server see? Packets from the same source IP address (likely your router's public address), but with different source ports. The ports I'm talking about are TCP and UDP ports, which refer to logical connections to services, not physical interfaces.

Also, as long as your computers are behind your router and assuming it's using NAT to "translate" your computers' private IP addresses to public IP addresses, the destination Web server will not see such internal/private IP addresses of the computers.

For example, PC1 (192.168.0.5) and PC2 (192.168.0.6) are connecting to www.google.com (possibly 74.125.113.103). When packets from those computers leave your router, they will show that come from the same public IP address (your router's), which might be 5.6.7.8. Google's Web server won't see the internal addresses 192.168.0.5 and 192.168.0.6, but only 5.6.7.8 and will differentiate each connection by check the different source port numbers, usually numbers above 1023 and always under 65536.

Is obtaining a Mac address illegal? Just wondering in the US that if a retailer or restaurant wants to collect a user's data through obtaining a Mac address, is it illegal?

MAC address - or Media Access Control addresses - are important so that the ethernet or wireless network you’re on can address packets to you. Lost of devices collect these, ranging from public WIFI systems, through to tracking devices that are scattered across public WIFI systems. Generally people keep the same MAC address for their device for it’s entire life, and so it’s a very good way to track a person, since you can tell if the same person is using a WIFI under different names, across multiple WIFI locations, throughout cities and countries and even allow people to be blocked or presented different information based on their MAC, whether or not cookies were enabled and it completely ignores encryption, VPNs and anonymous browsing as MAC addresses occur one layer beneath all of that.Your MAC address is like your face. If you go out in public, people can see it, and usually no one else has the same face. It makes it very convenient for you to be tracked by this address by government and corporate interests, although there are some practical problems with this, such as needing to be able to get to the MAC tables in whatever device you’re connected to.There is no law preventing collection of this address. Most logs would contain it when you connect to a network, and sometimes just because you’ve passed close to a wifi network can result in a connection, especially on modern cellular phones, such as android. There may be laws about how this is used however - as privacy laws don’t necessarily prevent data being collected, especially important data such as MAC addresses, which are usually logged. But they do sometimes affect what can be done with that information. If you’re concerned, then get a device on which you can change the MAC address and change it regularly and randomly. You can still be tracked if you do this, at least to some extent, but it makes it a lot more difficult for government, and often worthless to corporates, especially if you follow strategies such as picking MAC addresses likely to be spotted in fairly new devices. On the other hand, pick a bad MAC address and you’ll light up like a beacon to a device that is looking for you.But generally, collecting your MAC address isn’t against the law.

Can you track a specific computer using a MAC address?

From the library wifi, they would see the machine MAC address. That could be tracked (by the police) to the vendor of the wifi adapter, and if in a laptop, most likely identify the make and model of the laptop. All the police have to do then is watch in the library for someone to connect using model "x" of laptop, then check it out for the MAC. The police would probably already have a warrant to check any laptop in the library for that MAC address, then be able to search the machine itself.

A bigger issue is that the library may also be liable for "enabling" this to happen. Proper public wifi should have commercial firewalls. The library may have had one, but had some "software holes" in it. If they had a commercial firewall, then the library may be in the clear, as they exercised "due diligence" as best they could. If they had no firewall, they may be in legal trouble yet...

Can changing your MAC address damage your network card?

No. Changing the MAC address will not physically damage the NIC. You can change the MAC address on your PC without too much trouble. Check the reference links below.

That said, you should really consider buying a Linksys router for example, you can override the WAN side MAC address on the router to be the same as your PC (which you said is registered with your provider) and then plug in any number of machines on your LAN side. This way you will also have a hardware firewall and won't have your PCs directly connected to the Internet with a globally routable IP address.

How do I get the IP address for phone number?

Technically, any mobile phone with an Internet connection is assigned both public IP address and private IP address. To see this information, you will need to either download a terminal application from Google play or a Network tools app for your phone. For example this is an IP address information of a mobile phone using a terminal application:As you we can see, the interface v4-rmnet_data0 has a private IP address of 192.0.0.4 with mask of 255.255.255.255.Note: This interface uses PtP (Point-o-Point , not Point To Point)To know your Public IP address of your phone, Google What's my IP address[1]while connected to the Internet.Hope it helps.Footnotes[1] what's my ip address

How do I locate a device with a Mac address and an IP address?

Let’s make it simple.1st. MAC address:This can’t be used to locate a host “computer, smartphone, ..etc”, unless this host is in your LAN “local area network”. So unless this host is connected to your router, knowing it’s MAC address is useless.Learn more about MAC address here:What info can you get from mac address?Where is the Mac address 9C:4F:CF:62:1B:88?If somebody knows my mobile Mac address, can they hack into my Facebook and Google account?2nd.
