Random friend requests on Facebook? How and why?
You leave a trail with everything that you do on Facebook. If you post on a discussion board on a group, people know you exist. Likewise, if you use any gaming type apps, or indeed any apps where you compete with other users. People can search through friends, then friends of friends, then friends of friends of friends and so on. They can't see your profile if it's private, but, they can see you exist. Someone could be searching for someone who have a favourite band listed in their profile...it could be anything. Some are genuine, some lonely, some just want to be friends with loads of 'hot girls', some are adbots, and a few are malicious. Where you can, look at te profiles, and try to determine why they may want to befrind you. If you're unsure, you can always decline. You can of course, ask them who they are and why they want to friend you, but, if your profile is set to private, they will be able to see some info for a short while after you messaged them.
Why do I keep getting so many friend request from sluts?
It seems that lately I've been getting a lot of friend request from sluts on facebook. There profile is always the same; their pic is usually their boobs or legs and on their wall they are always giving someone named "John" a password and website to see them naked. Now, I'm not in any groups or anything and I'm under 18...so my profile is basically empty to them(as they never have any mutual friends)..but I keep getting them. :/ How do they even find me?

It’s the other way round. Facebook will block you if you send out too many friend requests that get turned down. It happened to me when I first joined and I got suspended from making friend requests for a week with a warning it would become permanent if I did it again.Ever since I’ve prepared the ground before sending a friend request because I don’t know what their refusal threshold is. I’m sure they don’t want that generally known!
How many Facebook friend requests do you get from total strangers?
I get several per day. Generally people do this for a few reasons:1. To get ability to comment on my posts. I only let friends of friends comment on my posts (I was getting too much crap on my posts before, this dramatically cleaned up my commentarea).2. To get access to some of my friends. 3. To gain social proof to other friends of mine (I'm far more likely to friend you if you have a bunch of friends in common already).4. To get full access to the items I put on my feed. For instance, if you subscribe to Mark Zuckerberg you won't see as many items as if he friended you.5. To get full access to my Open Graph behaviors (see more of the music I listen to, for instance).6. To be able to message me and not have your messages go to "other."Plus my friend graph is a pretty good "who is who in the tech industry" list. So there's some status in being on that.
Why am I getting so many friend requests on Facebook from people in the Philippines?
One of your contacts probably has added some fake accounts and then they try to add people who are friends with your friend. Or you may have added a fake account. Or could be random or a targeted catfish attack. Just keep deleting them and hopefully it will stop. The key is to only have people you know on Facebook or have met and not have randoms.
Is it normal that my mother gets too many unknown friend requests on Facebook?
Normality can be decided based on two cases.It's normal if she added herself to any adult groups. People in adult groups send random requests to befriend with the new users. They have head for identifying new users.It's quite not normal if she does not have any mutual friends with the unknown people she's befriended to. Because Facebook suggests only people with mutual friends to any new user.And regarding to responding messages to those unknown people, you might want to slow her down, and warn and alert her about the insecurities of social media if handled carelessly. How many friend requests does Facebook allow each account per day?
As far as I know you can accept any number of friend-requests, but you can be flagged for sending too many. This is to discourage spamming and sending requests to people you don't know.It's my understanding that this isn't a fixed numerical value but a combination of number and declined requests.If you're flagged you may not be allowed to send friend requests for a period of time as a penalty.
So many friend request from Strangers on facebook!!?
My facebook profile picture is not slutty at all,just very plain photo of me. Plus they send me FB messages about asking about who I am and such and complementing me. And asking me to contact them with an email and ****. Its so creepy. 4 times i got friend request from guys who had profile pictures taken of their penises and I blocked time all. They were also not from US (where i'm from). My name first, middle and last are ukrainian names if that helps. What creeps me out is the fact that this is happening more often and quite frequently then it ever had before.

Why do I receive so many friend requests from Arab/Middle Eastern men?
As a teenage girl, it is fair to say that I receive a handsome sum of friend requests from Middle Eastern men on many social networks. I know that I am not alone in this, as many of my female friends face the same scenario, and nobody quite knows why. I do not friend these men (or any strangers for that matter). They usually say something like: "You are beautiful do you want to make friendship ?" or something of the like. My question is, why? Why do these men add me when they do not know me, they do not speak my language very well, and they live so far away from me? Do they have any other motives or intentions? DISCLAIMER: I am not racist toward Middle Eastern men, I am racist toward creepy or strange men of all races and nationalities.
