Trackpad Scrolls All The Time Help

My track pad mouse can't scroll, how can I make it scroll once again?

It's likely that your trackpad driver got replaced by a generic Windows driver or an external mouse driver.  Reinstall your original trackpad driver or a current driver for your trackpad specifically.  Most trackpad drivers will support a standard mouse also.

How do I scroll with a macbook touchpad?

Hey everybody I have a few questions about my brand spanking new macbook. Thank you all for your help ahead of time.

1) How do I scroll with a macbook touchpad?

I know it is possible because I keep doing it accidentally. I am playing a game called Starcraft 2 that will zoom way in when you scroll. I am zooming in and losing the game badly completely on accident.

2) How am I doing this (using the touchpad to scroll up?)

3) How can I use the touch pad to zoom out (Scroll down?)

4) How can I turn this function off?

Mac trackpad not working right?

You most likely have a MacBook or MacBook Pro unibody. What you need to do is reset the PMU and PRAM on the entire system with stores trackpad system data. Do the following and you should be on your way to a woking machine again:

1) Shut down MacBook.
2) Power on MacBook.
3) Immediately hold down the following keys at the same time: command, option, p, r
4) Do not let go of the keys until you hear two chimes
5) After two chimes, release keys to boot normally.
6) Shut down MacBook again.
7) Press and hold down the power button until you see the front light indicator blink.
8) After you hear the chime, release finger from power button and it shall boot.

Do you prefer the Magic Mouse or the Magic Trackpad? Why?

The mouse. It has its downsides; it's designed by the same braniacs who make the rest of the Mac kit so it's clunky and stupid and harder to use than a regular mouse. If you grab it off the desk and don't look at the bottom you can spent ten seconds wondering where your pointer is and thinking that the buttons have gone really stiff before you notice it's upside down. But at least it's a mouse. You can do mousy things with it *and* do some neat scrolling tricks. The trackpad, eh. It's pretty awful. Games are out. Ever tried to play an FPS with the panel on your laptop? It's worthless. The aforementioned brainiacs also cocked up the UX for battery status and fitting on these doorstops. It's embarrassingly bad. Do not want.

How to disable the scroll on touchpad on laptop?

Most touch pads are either made Synaptics or Alps. You should see a reference to your touchpad in the system tray (the icons to the left of the clock).

Double click that icon (or try right click for a context menu), and you should find a setting for options or preferences.

The scroll action and other special functions are contained within those menus.

I hope that helps!

Touch-pad loss of Edge Motion scrolling function?

After a longer or shorter time (sometimes days, other times an hour or less), Edge Motion scrolling (Mouse wheel scrolling?) ceases to function correctly. When I try to scroll, the page moves only after lifting my finger from the touch-pad. All other touch-pad functions (corner taps, etc.) continue to work properly. I use a browser (currently Firefox) more than other software. I don't remember it first occurring in any software other than Firefox or Netscape. After it occurs it behaves the same in all programs: Notepad, Firefox, WordPerfect, IE (which I almost never use), etc. I tried blocking certain types of graphics (Flash) but that didn't prevent it from occurring. Restarting Windows restores Edge Motion scrolling. I have an 850 Mhz AMD processor w/ 128 MB of RAM on a Compaq Presario Notebook running Win ME using Firefox 1.5.0.3.

If two fingers are placed on my Asus laptop's trackpad the curser won't move. How can I fix this?

This isn't an issue. It's supposed to be a feature. Many manufacturers have implemented multi finger track pad gesture support. It means that when you place 2 or 3 fingers on the track pad, the cursor won't move , but some special functions will be performed. On most laptops, touching2 fingers on the track pad will have the following functions:Scroll up/down when both fingers are moved up/down simultaneously (like that on phones)Zoom in/out when the fingers are moved towards each other /away from each other (again, adopted from phone gesture)Right click on a particular thing (icon/menu/anything clickable on screen) when the cursor is on that thing.Basically, functions of a trackpad have been expanded.Note: you can still move the cursor using 1 finger\U0001f609
