Should I give my dog a pain pill on empty stomach?
I have never given any of my dogs that I've had fixed any pain medication. I wouldn't, I would leave her alone. Leave her water to drink and food to eat and let her eat and drink when she wants to. She sounds like she's doing better than what she was doing anyway and hopefully she'll continue to get better. Just make sure she doesn't lick her stitches, then you've got a real problem. And if she keeps throwing up, call the vet and let them know.

My cat is scared after taking tramadol!?
My kitty had surgery last week for an abscess and he was healing very well until he got so anxious to go outside he jumped and threw himself into my closed window and ripped his stitches! I took him to the vet first thing in the morning and he stapled his belly and prescribed 50 mg tramadol for the pain, my cat weighs abt 8 pounds. I gave him the first one when we got home from the vet since they didn't give him anything for the pain before stapling him I figured he was in pain, he fell asleep rather quickly and when I came back into the house after working on the yard a few hours he was backed into the corner of my room under my bed and wouldn't come out I had to pull him out and his eyes are completely dialated! If I walk away from him for a second he runs back under the bed and it is worrying me, why is he acting this way? I am gonna call my vet in the morning but was just hoping someone could give me some advice for now. Also, he won't meow! I haven't heard him meow since he took the first pill and only feels safe if he is completely covered in blankets with me next to him otherwise he runs under my bed to hide, is this normal? Why is he acting so strange?
Mixing Tramadol with Excedrin?
im not a doctor, so dont rely solely on my answer. but i was put on tramadol before for headaches and body aches. i also hav stomach problems. ive found a diagnosis for my body pains so im not on tramadol anymore, but when i was my doctor told me not to take exedrin with tramadol cause this can irritate my stomach more. its better to take naproxen. its a similar over-the-counter medication as exedrin, but works in a different way and is often suggested for ppl with stomach problems. exedrin is infamously known as the last thing ppl with stomach problems should take for pain. another idea is since tramadol works by effecting chemicals/neurons in the brain to suppress pain triggers, and since the GI tract is very much linked with serotonin in the brain, it could be that the two medications together triggered an abnormal response. better talk to ur doctor about this. but i wouldnt worry too much. its not life-threatening. u should probably try naproxen instead of exedrin.
