Transferring Microsoft Word And Other Tech Stuff.

How could I copy Microsoft Office from one Windows PC to another with a USB drive?

The short answer is you can’t. While you can easily copy the MSO files, it will not give you a working application. There is this central repository in Windows called the Registry. Whenever you install any elaborate software like MSO, it will create hundreds, if not thousands, of entries in the Registry. These entries are crucial to the proper operation of the application. It is also one of the reasons that you always want to “Uninstall” software rather that simply deleting the files. Otherwise, you will leave a lot of unused entries in the Registry and it will then need to be “cleaned”.The only suitable approach to getting most any modern software installed on a PC is to go through an install procedure that uses an install program or function to handle the installation. In the days of DOS (Disk Operating System), you could often move an application from one computer to another simply by copying the files. But, that capability ended with Windows and the Windows Registry. The Registry also provided the ability for software developers to greatly reduce the practice of illegally copying of software.

Why is it that when I hit backspace on Microsoft Word that the document won't move backwards?

You may have a page break. Click on the paragraph symbol (looks like a backwards P with an extra line through it) and see if there are some formatting characters to explain it.

Edit:
Is the little black square in the left margin? If so, that is a "keep with next", which means that whatever line that is on will always stay on the same page as the next line. To remove that select the line and go to paragraph properties. On the line and page breaks tab uncheck "keep with next".

How to move copy and paste several textboxes MS Word?

If i have with page on a document that has several text boxes and shapes is there way to highlight a whole page to copy and paste it to another document. Right now I have to copy and paste each singe text box and shape, this takes to long because it as book with 200 pages and im trying to make a condense shrieked book.

You want to transfer a document from one computer to another, and you want the document to be encrypted. The d?

Yes, the transfer should work.
The routers know the route between networks, and a WAP will handle the conversion from ethernet to wireless. The encryption takes place higher up in the stack and is not involved with getting the data from point a to point b.

The italicized parts did not come through, however...
WAP operates at Layer 1
Routers operate at Layer 3
Encryption takes place at a higher level, but it's been too long since I studied this to remember the exact Layer, but I think its Layer 6.

How can I convert PDF to Word doc programmatically?

Also, are you aware that since Office 2013, you can open a pdf file directly using Word? Try first opening Word, then use the "Open" dialogue to locate and open the pdf file. If the pdf a) contains embedded text and b) is not edit-protected, then the File will open up as an editable Word document. However I: Depending on the layout complexity of the file which originally made the file, the result may or may not be identical in appearance to the pdf. Some files such as InDesign create files which are more complex (using layers, master layouts, etc.) which Word doesn't understand, so it tries its best, but sometimes things shift around or don't display correctly. However II: If a pdf has been created by simply scanning a document as an image, then the page will also appear as an image in Word, so this relates to a) above.Funny that not so many people seem to have come across this feature. Hope you find it helpful.

Is there an app that turns a photo taken of your handwriting / notes into an editable pdf or text document that you can transfer to the computer and edit? Do you know of anything similar?

tl;dr yes, but this is state of the art tech so startups that do this well are starting to pop up nowHandwriting transcription is actually a very difficult computer vision problem. Most OCRs (Optical Character Recognition) can translate typed pdfs / pages into digital documents , but handwriting is notoriously difficult because there are so many more variations in handwriting than there are in fonts. With recent advances in machine learning (mostly in neural net algorithms + computing power with GPUs), I know a couple of startups that have trained neural nets to do this correctly. Here are some companies that are working on this problem:Evernote - evernote is an all around note-taking app, but they have a feature where you can search through photos of handwritten notes. It doesn’t transcribe the notes into documents, but makes them searchable. Here’s a blog that describes their search functionScribble - app that converts photos of handwritten texts to digital documents. I’m in their private beta and it’s pretty cool stuff. It’s early but so far it’s the only software I’ve seen that does what you’re asking about correctly.website: Scribble Websitedemo:Microsoft OneNote - OneNote has a feature where you can turn handwriting into digital notes. However, it requires you to write on a Surface tablet (or other tablet) with a stylus. I don’t use it because I just want to write in my normal notebook., but some of my friends like it.Here’s a video demo though:

When i use the tab key in Word, it jumps half way across the page?

Not a virus, just a tab stop on the ruler line for the paragraphs this happens in. Try this to fix it:

1. Select the paragraphs this affects (CTRL/A selects the entire document).
2. Right-click in the selection and select Paragraph.
3. Click the Tabs button.
4. There should be a value in the Tab stop position list box. If there is, click the Clear All button.
5. Click OK.
6. In Word 2007, if this also afflicts new documents, click the Default button.
7. Click OK.

Hope that helps.
