Tring To Get Out The Military Help

Does joining the military help you find yourself in life?

I think it depends on the person, where they are in life, and the reasons they joined. I enlisted the Navy after dropping out of college and being disappointed that I had not accomplished what I should have after graduating from High School. For me it was a chance to get some training and the discipline necessary to succeed. What I did not anticipate was that it would give me measurable ways to realize success and prove myself. It was also a setting where my natural leadership abilities were recognized and I could learn to be a better leader. There were many challenges, but with each challenge that I overcame, my self-confidence was strengthened. I had no intention of staying in when I enlisted, however my attitude was that if I was going to have to make the sacrifices the military demanded, I was going to take advantage of every opportunity that was offered in return. As a result, I finished college with 90% of my tuition paid by the Navy, was accepted to OCS and was commissioned as an officer. I went on to get my Master’s Degree in Electrical Engingeering at the Navy’s expense and ended up spending 21 years, earning a pension at 41. So in my case, the military helped me find myself. It was the right thing at the right time for me. I feel very fortunate for my experience. Many people do just as well, or better, in life without having to join the Military and other people join only to find out it is just not for them. But the opportunity is there if you want to take it and make the best of it.

I cant get a job should i join the military?

I have to tell you..... MAN UP! No one is trying to prevent you from getting a job.... it has to do with the current economy. California is worse then most. People who have lost their jobs are taking ANYTHING just to attempt to survive.

If you want to join the military...do so. Gain some experience to make yourself marketable in the real world.

Join the Air Force. They have the best schooling plus the latest equipment.

I might suggest you get a study guide and work in getting a decent score in the ASVAB. Your question shows you might need some work to ensure you can enlist and get a decent job choice.

What is the best way to get out of the military?

This is a hard one to answer. Pretty much anything that could get you out of the military illegitimately could result in a non-Honorable discharge. A lot of it will depend on the unit's CO and how he/she views the actions of the soldier trying to get out.

One of the more common ways is to 'eat your way to freedom.' Get so overweight they discharge you on medical grounds.

Get pregnant if you are so equipped.

Intentionally come up positive on drug tests.

Fake an injury.

Fake a mental illness.

You are right, the military isn't for everyone... but going back on your oath and contract DOES have consequences and that will most likely be the complete loss of any benefits/bonuses and a non-honorable discharge. Just accept that if you can't fulfill your word. Not trying to be harsh, but I don't understand why people think they should get 'Honorable' discharges without having honorably served...

Husband getting kicked out the military? what would you do?

me and my husband have been married for 2 years. we have a 2 month old baby boy. he was recently almost chaptered out the army but they gave him a second chance. they go to iraq on july 15. he was on leave for 10 days so he could see his freinds and family before he deployed. he left sunday and made it to georgia on monday morning. he went in for formation and they tell him that he has orders to be out on friday. they took his second chance back and are throwing him out. they wont tell him why. they call my cell phone sometimes asking for him with an attitude. the person who has giving him a second chance is on leave. I just had a baby i stay with my mom. i have no job but i plan on finding on asap. and i continue school in the fall. what would you do if you were in our shoes? we will have no income once he gets thrown out. i need help. i need steps. my main concern is our son. we will have no insurance or anything?

Attempting suicide while in the military?

It all depends on his chain of command on how they handle it and if charges are brough agaisnt him how the conviening authority preceeds. If he is in a command that beleives in going to see a shrink or just geting rid of him.

These would all determine what discharge he would get. If they are a tough type on this they might give him one of the lesser discharges OTH, dishonorable and such but he might get someone who goes the other way and gets him a medical discharge due to PTSD or could get him help and let him stay but that is unlikely due to the fact if he was to do it again they could be held negligent for not getting him out.

If he is discharged for this he will get a disharge rating that wont allow him to re-enlist (they put a code on your discharge it tells if that person is eleigable for re-enlistment)

Faking mental illness to get out o the Army?

You're husband was a piece of **** before all of this. Faking a mental illness for a discharge. What a loser.
