Unemployment Was At Its Highest Under Which Of These Presidents

Why Was Unemployment 10.8% Under Reagan?

hmmm how about a more relevant question like why is unemployment 10.2% and climbing under 0bama when he promised that it would not go over 8% if the stimulus passed? hmmmmm.......typical liberal with a child like mentality of shifting blame.

Oh, and Reagan is dead.......just in case you didn't know.

What are the lowest and highest unemployment rates any country has ever seen in history?

When measuring and comparing unemployment rates from different countries in different moments of time, definitions and resources are important. In particular, the quality of surveys and estimates performed in the middle of economic crises (where unemployment is at its highest) should be taken with caution. More often than not, measurements are suspended in such times, as the public sector cannot even afford the hiring of the temporary employees needed for such a task.Nevertheless, these data points will probably answer your question:LOWEST - Thailand: 0.56% as of end-2014Source: Thailand's Unemployment Rate is a Ridiculously Low 0.6%. Here's WhyHIGHEST - Gaza: 43% as of end-2014.Sources: http://www.worldbank.org/en/news...Youth unemployment can show much worse levels: in 2013 it reached 50% in Greece and Spain, for example. It exceeded 60% in Gaza in 2014.Source: Eurozone youth unemployment reaches record high of 24.4%

Which US President has achieved the highest GDP and the lowest unemployment rate in a history?

The highest GDP is under President Trump, but that’s a biased indicator, since GDP has been growing over time, and with the exception of President Hoover, the ONLY President to have a SHRINKAGE in GDP over his term of office, EVERY President has had a higher GDP than any of his predecessors over his term of office.Fromhttps://www.measuringworth.com/c...for Presidents with the greatest RATE of growth in GNP, surprisingly, Millard Fillmore ranks number 1. From 1850 to 1853, GNP grew at a rate of 9.25% per year. Maybe the California gold rush had something to do with it. I cannot think of another reason why those years should have seen such high growth.Coming in at number 2 was Franklin Delano Roosevelt, with an average GNP growth rate of 9.12% per year from 1933 to 1945.Of course WW II had a lot to do with that.Coming in at number 3 was Rutherford B. Hayes, from 1877 to 1881, with a GNP growth rate of 8.85% per year.I suspect that the reason for the growth rate may have been the fact that Presidents Grant and Hayes put us back on the gold standard after the country was flooded with greenbacks to pay for the Civil War, combined with the rebuilding of infrastructure, such as railroads, which had been destroyed during the Civil War.As to unemployment rate,Compare Today's Unemployment with the Pastit was 3.2% in 1929 just before the crash, hit an all time low of 1.2% in 1944 during WW II, went up to 6.6% in 1949 during the Truman Administration, bottomed out at 2.7% in 1952, during the Korean War, peaked out again at 9.9% in 2009, and was back to 4.1% as of 2017.

How do people think Trump is the worst president?

Our economy is booming right now, GDP has grown at a record rate and unemployment is at an 18 year low. Taxes are lower, the middle and lower class got the biggest tax cuts. I get he’s not polished like a life long politician, but I’d rather have that than more corrupt politicians.

Is Donald Trump the greatest President in the history of mankind?

Donald Trump May very well go down in history as one of the great presidents. He has accomplished great things in a short time so far. The intense opposition to him by his political opponents is testimony to his great success. Our economy is booming. We had the now famous "Trump Bump" in the stock market on the morning he was elected. We also have a business/job friendly administration for the first time in eight years driving high consumer and investor confidence. Trump has eliminated 30% of costly regulations on business, a very important act to stimulate growth and jobs as over one million new jobs were created on Trump’s watch during his first year. We now see the lowest unemployment in over 50 years and the lowest African-American unemployment ever recorded. GDP growth up to 3%, our debt to GDP ratio is down 1% and we see the fastest wage growth in 9 years. The number of people receiving unemployment payments is at a 45 year low and there are 1.5 million fewer people on food stamps than just a couple years ago. The Tax Cut and Jobs Reform Act has passed allowing 95% of taxpayers to keep more of their own money and incentivizing jobs and growth. There was a surplus of tax receipts already in April 2018 as a result of Trump’s tax reform, the highest monthly surplus in history. Unemployment payments are at their lowest in forty-five years and GDP reached 4.1% in July, 2018, highest in many years. During 2018, real wages increased for the first time since the 1970s. On foreign affairs China is cooperating for the first time ever on North Korea and North Korea is talking to South Korea. ISIS is defeated in Mosul, Raqqa and Rawa and on the run in Iraq and Syria. ISIS has lost 98% of their territory lost during Trump’s first year. Trump has a great start after little more than one year in office. In October, 2018, the United States was named the world's most competitive economy by the World Economic Forum (WEF) for the first time in 10 years. All of that said it is much too early to ask this question.

Why did the unemployment rate SKYROCKET after Obama won the presidency in November 2008?

I keep hearing from the left that Bush left Obama with an 8.2% unemployment rate when he took office, which is true as of January 2009. The FACT is, the unemployment rate was only 6.8% before Obama won the presidency, and in only 2 months the unemployment increased to 8.2%. Now why do you think that is? Could it have something to do with the fact that every business owner knew what Obama's plans were before he got into office? He did campaign a lot about going after construction businesses for taxes he felt they were hiding, which he DID do, and also hired 17,000 new IRS agents to help in his Socialist crackdown.
What do you think could have caused a catastrophic escalation in unemployment right after Obama got elected? Do the SOCIALIST LEFT really believe Bush has magical powers that made businesses start laying off workers? hmmmm?
