To respond to "they are the same size how don't it fit?" They aren't. The white 4s is actually little bit bigger than the 4. It stills fits into apple's limit for error, so official apple accessories can still fit them but not third party accessories. Also, the buttons are shifted slightly, so the case I have now for the iphone 4 partially covers the silent switch for my 4s.

If I did that, I would lose all of the pictures and contacts on the phone. I have never synced the phone to the computer, so it is not backed up. Is there any way I can salvage at least the pictures?
