Us Marines Vs Us Army

US Marines vs US Army?

As a Marine i can tell you boot camp is honestly compleatly mental. Remember this quote, its my moto: "You would be suprised what you are capable of when you have no choice in the matter"
Boot camp is just that. Your drill instructors wont quit and your boys wont let you quit. They start off slow and gradually build you up to the hard stuff. Think crawl, walk, run. As long as you meet the minimum requirements of the running, pull ups, and crunches you will be good. Remember when you get there you will meet people that are small, some weak, some fat, some shy and all of them are there to claim that title. We are the only branch that makes you earn your name. In the army your called a soldier from day one. In the Marine Corps your a recruit untill you prove yourself.
The DI's are load, angry, intence and care more about you than your parents.
Bottom line bro after 13 weeks of blood sweat and fears that Drill Instructor who you thought hated you is going to stand in front of you and place the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor in your hand. He is going to say "congratulations Marine and tears will start to swell.
Dont feel bad though cause as you look over you will see the biggest guy in your Platoon crying like a little girl.
In the end that title means everything. You said it yourself the name carrys so much honor and tradition. Less than 1% of the US have claimed that title.
Its yours if you want to earn it.

U.S Army vs Marines, who would win?

Brawls have started over this question. Everyone knows that the Army is much bigger than the Marines. They would win by sheer numbers. But if an equal number of Marines against an equal number of soldiers. The Marines would dominate. If it were an equal number of Marines against an equal number of Army Rangers or Special Forces...well that would be a good fight.

Army vs Marines who would win?

I'm assuming you're talking about some full on fight. In that case, the Army would win. The Army is three times larger than the Marine Corps. The Marines would put up a heroic and valiant fight, fighting to the last man, the last bullet, and the last minute, but it would be a losing effort.Even though the Marines have jet aircraft, they do not have bombers. The Army also has a fuck ton of Anti Aircraft weaponry.Neither side has nukes in the situation, but you know what else the Marines lack? Medics. Marine Medics are actually Navy Corpsman. The Army also has its own Predator UAS platform, which could be used to devastating effects. In short, quantity has a quality all its own. The Marines may make great initial strides, but they will lose. 3:1 is just bad math for you.

US Marines infantry vs US Army infantry?

Well that depends. Lets look at a few things.number one the Army is way bigger around 600 thousand strong while Marines are around 100 thousand strong. That is active duty anyways do to that who do you think is going to have more people anywhere, the ARMY there are more of them and depending on the task at hand is going to depend on what group goes in first or stays longer etc. etc. Alot of the fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan has been land attacks not from the ocean so the Marine Corps Specialty as such has not been as necessary. And once again as I say before the Army pry has 6 soldiers over there for about every 1 that we have. Each has their role and together we accomplish the overall mission and quite often our patrols overlap each other and we give each other support. Sometimes Marines save pinned down Army personnel and sometimes vice versa it is what it is. The Army does have more updated weapon systems though while we continue to use the M16-A4 and now the M27 which just recently came to us so it was not used much if at all during the 2 most recent wars. But as long as war is going on both will be there for the fight doing their job each one at times arrive before the other whether it is the bulk of the branch or the special force groups.

The rest of it is simple politics. The Marine Corps is the only Branch that the President does not need permission from the Senate or Congress to deploy immediatley, that is why quite often we are there first not all the time but usually. That is also why we do our best to stay a small force so we are more mobile at a quicker rate.

Who is tougher US Marines vs US Army Rangers?

that question is asking to compare to completely different things. Rangers are special forces for the army. the marines are just a branch. ( the marines vs army in general marines would probably come out on top since they have a longer and somewhat tougher training.) also the saying that every marine is rifleman. so even the cooks know how to shoot. a better question would be which has better specialized forces the army or marines? the army has rangers , green berets , and delta force. marines has force recon and MARSOC. each does different things and are all elite soldiers.

Waffen SS vs US Marines?

The USMC was light infantry trained for amphibious assaults.

The SS were heavy armor.

The USMC was not designed to take on a mechanized force. In fact on most islands, the USMC only took the beaches and established a beach-head and the US Army took over the clearing of the rest of the island. Small islands like Iwo Jima were all done by the Marines, but most islands had 2-4 Army Divisions that took over the fighting after the beach-head was secure.

So because the SS had tanks, in general I would say the SS would win. If it was in a jungle or urban environment that forced the tanks into close quarters, then the USMC might win.

Also when you look at it, since the USMC was a light force designed to fight a light force and the US Army was designed to fight a heavy force and had problems with the SS, in this comparison it is in favor of the SS. If you compared the USMC to a German light unit, then you would have a more equitable comparison.

Yes the Japanese were fanatical, but by time Iwo Jima came, they had figured out how to defend an island. The bombardments did not help too much as they had in the past because the Philippines had shown Japan the errors they made on all the previous islands and how their doctrine had been flawed. It was at Iwo Jima that first fought a real defense and did not just do Banzai charges as they had done before. Prior to that, their flawed doctrine said to set up on the beach and try to take them out as the crossed the water. It was not until the Philippines that they figured out, hey, fighting from inside that mountain works better.

This was because their entire doctrine was written for fighting Russian tanks in open terrain and defense doctrine in that situation called for setting up your defense a long a river. Since they islands didn't have rivers, the commander set up defenses on the beaches trying to adapt their doctrine to a jungle island.

So when you get to Iwo Jima, you cannot say that the Japanese were poorly trained anymore. Iwo Jima and Okinawa were the exceptions in the Pacific War. So comparing Stalingrad to Iwo Jima is not an equal campirsion either.

Canadian Army, or the US Marines?

The Canadian army have the best Snipers in the world after the British so if you want to learn how to shoot join the Canadian army and they might teach how to play the pipes I use to train snipers h from both the U S Canada and Britain and other nato countrys in my 4 years of doing that i found that the British were the best Specially the Scottish guys . followed by the Canadians. And they are fighting and dieing out there as well And also their special forces are only second to the British S A S and their S B S

Which is harder, US Army Rangers or US Marines?

The Marines are Conventional Troops. The Marine starts a Civilian and then does a 12 week Basic which is only pull up and also sit ups and also a three mile run. Which the Marine is given 28 minutes to do. 9.5 miles per mile if your slow. The Marines are then taken to SOI which is easier than Boot and they can go out at night on weekends and see women and drink booze. The Army Ranger is at First an 11b Infantryman. This is a 13.5 week OSUT which is very difficult and the Drill can be a Green Beret in some cases. Then Airborne School then Ranger School. I won’t go into details about those schools except that Special Forces goes to Airborne and Ranger School and so do Navy Seals. I was just reading about Green Beret who went to Ranger School three times and each time he went he was pulled out to do a Mission with Special Forces and he begged them to let him pass but they had to go to do the mission instead. Anyway. The Ranger 75th Ranger Regiment is the Elite Infantry. Marines use 13 man squads. The Army Infantry uses 9. Army Rangers use 4 to 5 Man teams. Less than half what Conventional Infantries use. The 75th Ranger Regiment is A Tier Two Socom Team and has Regimental Recon Company In it which is Tier One like Delta. It’s size is 3623 people more than Force Recon and Marine Raiders combined and bigger than Marsoc. There is no Tier One team in the Whole Marine Corps. On 29 June 2006 during a session of the Committee on Armed Services, General Wayne Downing testified before the U.S. House of Representatives that 70 percent of all Delta operators had served in the 75th Ranger Regiment. The Rangers are really really Elite. Most Of Delta Served with them. If 70 Percent served in the 75th Ranger Regiment that doesn’t leave a lot of room for Marines at the top.I’m sorry but Rangers are much better than Marines.Ranger PFT Minimum ScoresPush-ups in 2:00 49 in 2:00Sit-ups in 2:00 59Pull-ups 6Two-mile run 15:125 Mile run 40:0016-mile hike w/65lb pack 5 hours 20 minutes15-meter swim with gear Pass/FailThis is all just the minimum.Of course Rangers put up better scores. The 75th Ranger Regiment requires more than the minimumAlso there is the Ranger Qualified Soldiers who are in other Units. They aren’t the same as the 75th Regiment Soldiers but are there to help the Regular Units to be better by having Elite Infantry Inside the Infantry and Cavalry Teams as well as other Combat Arms. They are also trying to make 75th Rangers and are waiting for a slot to open up.
