Usa Green Card Family Based Interview

Went to marriage based green card interview and the lady said she was 'not feeling it'?

Two days ago I went to the marriage based green card interview for my foreign born husband. We have been married 10 months and been together for 2 years.

At the interview, the only question the lady asked us was where did we meet. I was under the impression that she would be asking at least several questions about our relationship?? Then she told me to show her the documents we brought as proof of our marriage. We brought:

-documents proving that we have been living at the same address together for the last 20 months (lease with both our names, mail and bills with both our names)
-bank statements for our joint bank account for the last 14 months
-proof of joint car and home insurance
-pictures of my family and his family together at our marriage
-pictures of us sight seeing / being together

The lady made copies of the documents and pics, but then she said she would not give the green card because she was 'not feeling it'... WTF??? I asked her what did we do wrong, she said we have 30 days to mail more evidence of marriage or the case will be denied :-(

So my question is.... what more evidence should I provide?? More mail and bills with our names on it? More pics? Maybe a sex tape LOL...

Also, do you think I should get an immigration lawyer? I'm not sure what the lawyer would be able to do since our only option right now is to mail more documents in the next 30 days...

Advice please!!

Green card interview and proccess?

Ok basically i got an interview on april for the greeen card

Here's my timeline so far for this green card:

November 2008 applied for green card and some other stuff i cant remember
January 2009 finger printed
April 2009 interview

what i want to know is what kind of questions do they ask in the interview?

How long does it take for the green card to come after interview or do they tell you after the interview?

extra information: oh yh my mum and step dad got married in November 2008, my step dad is the one fileing for us for this green card he is the US citizen

I'm having an interview to get the US green card. What are they going to ask me ? How should I be prepared?

My general instructions areBe honest. Do not lie.If you don't know the answer say “I don't know”If you don't remember say “I don't remember”If you don't understand the question say “I don't understand”.As for what they will ask, look at the forms you filed. Those are the main questions you will be asked. If you are adjusting status look up form I-485 at www.uscis.gov. or look for the immigrant forms at travel.state.gov. I think it's DS-230 or DS-260.

Marriage based green card interview? anyone experienced? HELP!!?

Easy breezy. Not a big deal. Just go in, and relax...I know...easier said than done..lol.
The interviewing officer will take the 2 of you to a room..and ask simple questions, like having a conversation. How you met, how long you have been a couple, why you would like a green card, where you live..that sort of thing. They only separate the couple when they think the marriage is a fraud. You shouldn't have an issue with this.
Oh, and take any other evidence you can think of when you go. Bills that come in recently, photo's, that kind of thing. The officer actually looked at our photo album when we went for our interview. We took a whole box full of extra evidence, but she wasn't interested in most of it. We figured "Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it". Took less than 15 minutes and we walked out with his approval stamped in his passport. His green card showed up less than a month later.

Good luck..oh and congrats!

What are Immigration/Green card interview questions?

I had my interview 5 months ago... it's pretty straight forward. In regards to your lease, you can get a copy form your landlord. I did....
bring all your bills, bank statement, love letters, etc.... you may not needs them, but be prepared.
they may ask you how you met, where did you go out on dates, wedding pictures, where did you get married, ask you personal things about your spouse, they asked me what I did in school, and asked my husband what he did at his job, they asked me why I moved to another state and if i planned to move back, they asked why we bought a house in the state we moved (if that would affect us moving back to the other state we moved from), they asked us again several times how we met and fell in love, how we knew we wanted to marry each other etc.
we have been together for 3 years and married for a yr and a half, so we had plenty of pictures to show, but he did not ask for any...
it was fast, but he was mostly interested in how we met and got married and our educational background, let me know if u have any other question, hope this helps... also if you do google searches for immigration interviews you will see many people's experiences come up....

How do you know if your employment-based green card interview went bad?

Your interviewer called in several of the staff for a good laugh. The job description was re-posted under “help wanted”.You are on your way to prison.

How do we address these red flags for the green card interview of our real marriage?

Keep everything. The key with immigration interviews is to overload them with proofs. Has he ever sent you cards, emails, letters? How about vice versa have you sent him those kinds of things. Everything is now an open book, even records of text messages with those emotional messages of “I miss you so much” “I can’t wait until we’re together again” “I love you” etc etc. Do you have candid photos of you two together from times when you were together? Be careful with photos, they will look at them and see if it looks like they were staged, are you wearing the same outfits in all the photos? Do you have a history of photos that show different hair styles as time has passed? Do you have mutual friends who can write a letter on your behalf saying that they know you both and they know that that the two of you have fallen in love and have a genuine relationship.Sit down together and start brainstorming about everything you have or can get your hands on that show this love is legit.

Can parents enter USA on visitor's visa when their Green Card is in Progress?

No one can say for sure but I would suspect there is a relatively high chance they would be rejected or denied entry.

They have aleady applied to immigrate, and the consul is obliged by law to presume that an applicant intends to immigrate unless there is evidence to support a different conclusion. In this case they DO intend to immigrate so the consul will assume, absent a lot of evidence to the contrary that they will not intend to leave when the visa expires...
