Affidavit of Support for green card marriage?

I got married 10 months ago and as I was unemployed at that time, my parents signed the affidavit of support for my husband. I am seeking a divorce now (he left the country right after receiving his green card) and he does not want to divorce me. The situation is that I want him away and I am confused as to whether or not now my parents must support him until he becomes a citizen?
I am afraid he might intentionally try to do crap on us for me wanting a divorce...I feel that he just want to stay at our place for the sake of living off us......he felt very comfortable in here having people do everything for him. He's overseas now and I do not want him to set a foot on US soil.....he might even have married me for GC....I do not know how to prove this though....he didn't even told me that he was already married once long time ago although already divorced...but could have told me this prior to our marriage. I am thinking about calling the immigration before he gets back in a month or two...I really do not my parents to end up in this crap themselves over their signed affidavit of supports...what are my options and will the immigration stop him upon his arrival to the US?

Would a letter from a senator expedite the administrative processing of an H-1B visa application?

So here’s my experience. I was in India on vacation in 2013 and had to get my H1B visa stamped. Having done MS from USA and working for a pretty big company, I never thought that I’d have to go through administrative processing. Anyway, so I was given the 221g and not asked any documents (perhaps the reason was my common last name). I waited for 6 weeks with no updates to my case. I found out online who’s the congressman representing the city where I live in the USA is. I reached out to her through her website contact form and explained my situation. To my surprise, I was contacted from her office within 2 days asking for more details about my case. They also asked me to sign an online consent form giving them permission to contact the consulate/DOS on my behalf. I did as they requested, because what other option I had. After they contacted the consulate, they forwarded me the reply they received from them (which didn’t exactly say that they’ll expedite the process, but it said that they’ll look into my case)My case was updated the next week of receiving the reply and I got the visa the following week. Now I’m not sure how much influence did the congresswoman’s office contacting the consulate had on this. But it seemed like it did. All I can say is you got nothing to lose in trying. The congressman/senators are very approachable and willing to help. So don’t hesitate. Hope my experience helps.

Should I give my 2 weeks notice after the H-1B transfer is approved or after the confirmation of receipt from USCIS? How likely is it for such a transfer to be denied, and what are the some common grounds for such a denial?

I tell you do not fall in trap of fear and do not allow yourself be exploited by attorneys, employers etc.If the firm is big your h1b will be approved without any issues as they have budget and projects to support your case.Worst case if it is denied, there are thousands of companies who will file your h1b again, so there might be a few days where you might be out of status which USCIS overlook considering the circumstances are unavoidable and you are not willful violator. So if you are still in doubt, instead of taking pessimistic approach, go for more aggressive approach by not waiting but keep giving more interviews and keep taking more offers so that you have someone to file if you need it.Bonus : Go for insane negotiations and ask for packages you won’t believe you are worth it. You would be surprised.Good luck!

Why would an OPT (Optional Practical Training) be rejected?

There could be a lot of reasons:(1) You utilized more than 11 months and 29 days of full time CPT. That would make you ineligible for OPT.(2) You did not apply within the stipulated timeframe.(3) Your OPT employment is not related to your major.(4) You've previously utilized OPT for a previous degree that is “at the same level of study”. For example: If you did one Master’s Degree and used your OPT, you won't get a second OPT if you do a second Master’s in the US.(5) For errors on your form, missing documents or photographs that do not meet standards, you'll usually get an RFE and not an outright rejection. There could be reasons other than this as well. Ideally, you would get a letter on rejection that states why specifically your OPT was denied.Always consult your ISO before you apply for your OPT to avoid these situations.Note: Not to be construed as legal advice. I'm not an immigration attorney.
