Used Motorhomes At A Reasonable Price Detroit Or Warren Michigan

Is it better to live in Florida or Michigan?

Hmmm, seems that practically every person who answered mentions hurricanes as a negative for Florida, but seem to dismiss tornadoes in Michigan. In the past 164 years (1851 to the present) 114 hurricanes have hit Florida. 70 of them were Category 2, 3, or 4 (I consider Category 1 hurricanes to be somewhat stronger than a gale). So, an average of less than one hurricane a year to hit Florida, or about one Cat. 2, 3, or 4 hurricane to hit Florida every two years.Tornadoes. In the past 67 years, 958 tornadoes have hit someplace in Michigan, or 15 per year.Since Florida is 2/3rds the size of Michigan, the odds each year of a tornado hitting somewhere in Michigan is about 20 times greater than a hurricane hitting someplace in Florida per year. So, I would discount hurricanes as a reasonable argument against living in Florida.I agree about the summer heat. One other plus for Florida, it is one of only seven states in the US that doesn’t have a state income tax.

What do you think is the finest car America has ever produced?

Laura, you will never get a consensus on that one. Like music, we all tend to relate to the songs of our youth and young adulthood era. The same is true with cars. For me, the greatest auto America ever made was a 1958 Chevy Impala Supersport convertible with lowering g blocks, fender skirts and a continental rear end extension with matching painted wheel cover holder. (fuzzy dice hanging from the rear view mirror and seat belts hadn’t been invented yet. Cruising through the drive in with the top down on a warm summer evening with Elvis blasting from the radio while lookin’ fer chicks’. It just don’t get no better, no how! And I bet 50 people will have equally strong and different opinions! LOL
