Volvo O2 Sensor Question

1990 740 volvo wagon oxygen sensor question.?

I mistakenly ordered an oxygen sensor for my volvo wagon(not turbo) that is a two wire.My son went to put the one I ordered on and said the old one is a three wire, red, white and black wires. Will the two wire universal (all other specs are right) work on this car? Thanks.

2000 Volvo S80 T6 - Oxygen Sensors?

Just need to replace the 2 upstream(front) sensors.

The pipes are intakes. Just air inside.

How many O2 sensors on 1997 Volvo 850?

Many cars (and all cars from 2001) will have 2 or more oxygen sensors:

There will be at least one sensor at the front of the vehicle, mounted into the exhaust pipe or manifold somewhere before the catalytic convertor.
This is known as the front, pre-cat or upstream sensor.
V-type engines (V6, V8 etc) will often have one pre-cat sensor for each bank of cylinders.

There will then be another sensor positioned after the catalyst, known as the rear, post-cat or downstream sensor.

Where is Bank One(o2) sensor One located on a 2004 volvo v70?

Volvo v70's all have inline engines, whether they be 4, 5, or 6 cylinders, so all O2 sensors are considered "Bank 1". Only V (ie; V6, V8) engines have Bank 1 and Bank 2 sensors. The first sensor closest to the cylinders (aka "upstream"), would be Bank 1 Sensor 1, whereas the "downstream" sensor (near or after the catalytic converter) would be Bank 1 Sensor 2.

btw, if it runs really badly right from when you start it up (with the engine cold), it's not the O2 sensor, as they have no effect on the way the engine runs until the system goes into closed loop operation.

94 volvo 850 has a code 214, even after replacing the RPM sensor, is this a computer problem?

1994 volvo 850 2.4L L5 Non-turbo engine with automatic transmission that stalls only after it has run for a few minutes. Always starts and runs, but stalls after a couple minutes. Code 214 always shows up. Replaced RPM sensor, coolant temp sensor, MAF sensor, battery, thermostat and still get code 214 (rpm sensor error) and still stalls. Is this this ECU going bad?

Where is the oxygen sensor on my 1994 Volvo 940 turbo?

Pale,

I am a product specialist with Walker Products, a manufacturer and worldwide distributor of oxygen sensors. The rear O2 sensor should be located under the belly pan just past your cat.

O2 sensor of 1996 Volvo 850 replaced, but computer wont reset?

some times the computer adaption can be reset manually with the laptop we use at the dealer.
even then it might not right away, driving the car for awhile can help.
you can disconnect the battery for several hours, it won't clear any codes, but can reset some hidden adaptions.
personally i think that there is another problem that was not addressed.
which oxygen sensor was replaced? you have 2.
i have had situations where i needed to replace both, even though only one was indicated faulty.
oddly enough, an aftermarket scan tool might not get all the deeper codes.
sadly you might end up with a dealer trying to get to the bottom of this.

I need a cattalaic converter sensor switch for a 1990 volvo 740 gl. Is this also called the oxygen sensor?

it is an oxygen sensor one of about 3 on the car.

What are some symptoms of a bad idle air control sensor?

Idle air control valves open to allow more air to "leak" into the intake, raising the engine rpms, or close when not needed. When your AC compressor kicks in or power steering is activated as you suddenly turn the steering wheel, the sudden drag on the drive belt will bog down the engine. These systems send a signal to the engine computer telling it they are active and it then signals the IAC valve to open, which increases the engine speed. Without this occurring,  the engine could struggle, or die. The IAC valve can cause weird idle issues, mess with throttle functionality or cause the car to die. Sometimes they fail, get stuck or just get all carboned up. Sometimes people have success at cleaning them, but generally it is best to replace them when bad. Idle issues and even problems with the IAC valve may not be due to the IAC valve being bad itself. An idle issue does not mean the IAC valve is bad. It is best to pay close attention to how the vehicle is acting, and then communicate that clearly and as completely as possible to your mechanic. Intermittent problems can be very hard to diagnose. Details will help. Knowing more about the vehicle in question and its symptoms (in detail) will also help in understanding more about what it is doing.

P141 code O2 Sensor Heater on a 99 Olds Silhouette?

make sure your vehicle is hot enough before you do this diagnostics. once your vehicle is hot and u put scan to obd2 connector. it should show you if o2 is working or not. whether it is switching from 0 to whatever. if it does not switch you need to replace it. also, while testing with a scanner put pressure on excelaterator gets rpm higher that's where u will see if o2 works or not. u can also check other sensors too while u r doing this.
