Was I Deported From Australia

Was I deported from Australia?

I am from India and I went to Sydney Australia on business visa in the year 2008. The immigration officer there at Sydney airport was not satisfied with my purpose of visit and felt that my activities are not in line with business visa and cancelled my visa in the Sydney airport and put a stamp on my passport as "Immigration did not clear Sydney Airport". Also, they put a stamp on my Visa as "Labelled In-Operative". They gave me a visa cancellation document mentioning the date and time.

I was taken to and kept in the detention center for about 10-12 hours [I was termed as detainee] and then I came back to India in the next available flight. My Total Time at Sydney was less then 48 hours including the time in detention center.

While coming back my passport was given to Flight attendant/Pilot and finally It was given to Indian immigration officials back in India. I had to explain all the details to Indian immigration officials in writing and finally I got my Passport back.

My Question:

Was I am deported?

My Passport is going to expire and I am going to apply for re-issue of Passport in India. There is a question I need to answer:

Have you ever returned to India on Emer...‡

Yes or No

All the experts Please Help me on this...

If I was Deported from USA.............can I go to Australia?

yea you can. dont tell them you were deported. the process can take as quick as 1 month if you have all your paper work in order. however, they can deny you for any number of reasons, including not being able to prove you can support yourself, not having the right documents, or them just being racist.

How can I apply for a visa to Australia after being deported?

Assuming you mean “deported from Australia”, I’d say your chances aren’t great. One of the criteria for any visa is whether or not you’ve been refused entry to or deported from any other country, particularly Australia. If you were deported from Australia, that would mean that you had a visa and chose to do something which breached the conditions under which you were allowed to be here. The authorities would start from the position of “How do we know that this person won’t do it again?”You’d probably be best off to contact your nearest Australian embassy and outline the situation. The more convincing your reasons both for choosing to do the wrong thing last time and needing to be in Australia this time, the slightly better your chances could conceivably be.

Are Nigerians deported from Australia?

I have two answers;Short format…… YESLong format…….YESSSSSSSSSSSSSThe thing is, if you go there and do something considered wrong and illegal in Australia then your ass would be deported ASAP that's if you don't serve a jail term though the jail part would totally depend on the weight of your crime. And it's not just Australia, as long as you are an immigrant of any nation, you CAN and WOULD be deported should they deem you unfit for their society at any point in time.

I have a conviction in Australia and was deported. Can I get Canadian PR from India?

You will need to provide a Police Clearance Certificate from Australian Federal Police. Based on the report, the Canadian immigration authorities will decide whether or not your are admissible to Canada.

Is it true that an Irish couple is being deported from Australia after their son’s diagnosis with cystic fibrosis?

I expect it is true; you have to pass health checks to immigrate there and as they were still not citizens at the time of their child’s birth, he would come under the same regulations regarding health. Australia does not want ‘health tourists’ burdening its system, although this case seems a little heartless as the boy has known nowhere but Australia.I knew someone who went there with her husband. They were on working visas, had health insurance covering them both. She suddenly went blind and was diagnosed with MS. When she had recovered her sight, she found out her visa was now in question due to her now having a chronic condition. They both came home.

If you’ve been deported from New Zealand, but go to Australia to become a permanent resident. Can you still apply for a New Zealand Visa?

That would most likely depend on the circumstance of your deportation. If you were advised that you can’t set foot in New Zealand again, that means what it says on the tin. No going to New Zealand. Ever. Again. If, however, you were only blacklisted from New Zealand for a period of time, then you would presumably be eligible to return there once that period of time ends.Keep in mind, though, that the Australian permanent residency requires you to pass the “character test”. Deportation from a near neighbour (whether through overstaying a visa, breaching visa conditions, or committing a crime) is unlikely to help you in passing that test.

What's it like to be deported from or denied entry to Australia?

I went to AUS last July  from the US and was denied entry for not having "sufficient funds or travel reservations" for a tourist visa. I had a ticket to come home in August. I explained my husband was already there, with our funds out in cash, and we were staying with friends. They interrogated me for 5 hours, after denying me entry, they said they couldn't get me on a flight home for 3 days, so they put me in a "detention center" which is basically a privately owned jail. I have no criminal history, and my husband had gotten there a week before me and was staying with friends. He verified everything I said, and proved he had funds, but they said because it was not "in my personal account in the US" they wouldn't allow it as suitable proof. They were insane. And now, even though I was not charged with a crime, not deported, just denied entry, I'm banned for 3 years.Needless to say I'm not overly thrilled of that place now.
