We Are Women We Got Many Rights From Court Still Discrimination Is Going On

Gender Discrimination: why is it still so bad?

gender discrimination exists because girls are less valued, have fewer opportunities, are seen with contempt, are only valued for their sexuality, are viewed as a burden.

women are not given any thought at the macro level. many governments - lacking female representation - do not give them a second thought.

women are left impoverished, totally dependent on men-whether that be pimps, retired western pervs, or men in their communities - men who are able to make a living in an economy that values them & strives to meet their needs.

discrimination still exists in western countries -

domestic violence - 3 women are killed a day in the usa
pregnant women being killed by their partners
prosititues whose number 1 cause of death is murder
teen prostitution
porn that uses violence
rape
sexual harrassment
degradation in the media (howard stern, jerry springer, maury povich, penthouse, cu-m shots, girls gone wild -since when can ppl sign a consent form when drunk?- movies, tv and commercials)
women's appearance being ripped apart in the media
stereotypes of women - golddiggers, s!uts, vindictive, liars (woman-bashing that has far exceeded that of male-bashing)
a paltry 15% representation in congress
few supreme court justices
no female prez
reproductive rights that are often decided upon by men
overuse of hysterectomy and c-section
male surgeons "feminizing" the female body with plastic surgery
anti-feminist groups growing in number
more myths being created about phony mental disorders women suffer (PAS, Malicious Mom Syndrome)
researchers who say not to marry a career woman, who say housecleaning can prevent breast cancer, etc. etc.

i can go on & on.

a need for feminism? whatever you want to call it, there is a need to stop the discrimination of women.

Institutional discrimination against women in the United States today?

There are two.

1. (as the lovely Rachel points out) Some places in the States brutally deny women the right to be topless in places where men are so allowed.

2. Women who are violent abusers are often denied the DV abusers treatment and anger management therapy that are otherwise offered to men with that problem.

Do you feel that selective service is discrimination?

Most of you probably know (unless you're not a US citizen)...

In the United States when a male turns eighteen, they have one month (or it might be sixty days...I'm not too sure) to sign up for "Selective Service." This means that if there ever is a military draft the gov't may draft you.

However, women do not have to (but they can if they'd like)...

How is this NOT discrimination?

Do men get discriminated against in cases of divorce?

If you marry someone that has the same level or better in education, the same lever or better in wealth and the same level or better in relative health, then getting married is low risk. You should pay close attention to the inlaws as well. Low life or psycho in laws can and will, sometimes purposefully, destroy your marriage. Be very afraid if your spouse decides to stop working however. That's a huge red flag. Always do a background investigation on anyone you're seriously involved with. There are a lot of predatory people out there.

On the other hand, if you're the "bread winning man" (much better educated and/or much wealthier), you will likely end up like the 10s upon 10s of millions of men destroyed through divorce in the past 40+ years. Men still make up about 72% of the breadwinners in marriage. They used to make up 90+%. 95% of alimony and child support is still paid by men to women. Alimony and child support are not a flat rate. In other words, the more you make, the more you pay.

Prenups will NOT protect you from a spouse who drives up major debt while married, gets sued, falsely accuses you of rape, domestic violence, molestation, etc. Prenups can be thrown out and aren't as effective as something like an irrevocable trust. It is not uncommon for women's attorneys to use whatever dirty tricks they can to overturn a prenup.

I'm a high income earner and have chosen to stay single for life. I prefer having my own space and time, enjoy my own company and don't trust anyone enough to give them the power to destroy my life through something like divorce. I don't want someone living with me 24/7/365 either. You never know who someone will become in 5, 10, 20, etc years.

Many people, after decades of marriage, want to find themselves and file for divorce. Women file 2/3rds of divorces. Grey divorce is the fastest growing sector of divorce.

From one man to another, unless it's under the best of circumstances described above, I do not recommend marriage. The greatest power you have in a relationship is the ability to walk away relatively unscathed. The moment you get married - you lose all of your power. Marriage is Kryptonite to men. You don't ever want to lose your power.
