Weird Sleeping Habits

Who else here has weird sleep habits?

I have never slept more than 6 hours a night since I can remember, up until last month or so.

I used to stay up until 2, 3, or 4 a.m. writing and/or reading, and listening intently to every word said on the radio. I walk around and move things pointlessly from one place to another in my room, and make multiple trips downstairs for water. I would sit cross legged in my bed, with the covers pulled back, and stare at my clock until the last two digits were a multiple of ten, and finally go to sleep. I must have my fleece blanket with me in order to sleep.

I can't sleep on my left side due to prominent scoliosis and a rotated right shoulder, nor can I sleep on my back... my spine compresses (two hemivertebrae) and it is quite painful.

When I sleep on my stomach, and fold my arms up tight underneath me, resulting in super sore elbows in the morning.

Shutting up now.

Weird Sleeping Habits - Lovebirds?

I have two lovebirds one green peach faced lovebird and one yellow peach faced lovebird and the yellow one sleeps in a weird way if he sleeps at all. He goes to the top of the cage grabs the bars with his both feet and beak - is this normal?

Today i turned off the lights and covered the cage at night. a few hours later i returned turned on the lights and the bird was facing me but his eyes were open, they're not tame yet so theyre both afraid, anyway i poked the three times and he didnt do anything then i poked him harder and it seemed like he 'woke up' and turned his head really fast - so my other question is do birds even close their eyes when they sleep?

ONE MORE QUESTION!!!

I bought a yellow peach faced lovebird and a green peach faced lovebird - bought them both from the same pet store and same cage - one is female and the other male (i think).

The colors are completely different ofcourse - is it possible theyre brother/sister?

about the colors, one is completely green and the other is completely yellow - both with red/peach faces. one is larger than the other - still question remains are they siblings?

My leopard gecko has weird sleeping habits?

i have 3 hides in my 15 gallon tank, but my leopard gecko doesn't sleep in any of them, she either sleeps in the middle of the floor or on top of the hides under no cover at all. i have a low heat, bulb in there and a heat pad, but i thought leopard geckos are meant to hide from the light seeing as their nocturnal, so why doesn't she sleep in any of the hides??

What are the weird sleeping habits you have?

I’ve awoken to weird calls and whistles. Most of the time I luck out because they happened in my yet sleeping mind.So embarrassing if I ask,“Did you hear that?”And hear that astonished yes.

Chihuahua puppy weird sleeping habits?

When i first got my chihuahua, all she would do is sleep. Then for a couple weeks, she was energetic and wouldnt sleep, and now all she does is sleep again. this was a span of two and a half months. why is she doing this? and could you also tell me why she digs through my garbage and chewed on my used period pads?

Have you ever had a partner with weird/peculiar sleeping habits that didn’t match your own? How did/do you deal with it?

When I sleep I need complete darkness. My boyfriend prefers having some night lights on throughout the house so he can see if he gets up.I need complete silence. He needs a sleep machine with ambient sounds. Usually a thunderstorm to soothe him to sleep. Storms terrify me and give me anxiety. A clock ticking can even disturb me!As for me, I snore loudly, grind my teeth, roll up like a burrito in my blankets and sometimes talk in my sleep (he’s a lucky guy isn’t he?).Honestly, I use sleeping masks and cover my ears with my pillow (I’m a side sleeper), curse the world, but feel so thankful to be laying next to him. I sleep horribly on nights I stay at his place. We lived together before but now live separately, and I’ll tell you this, I’d rather have a horrible night of sleep next to him than a great nights sleep without him. His sleep habits are the same now that they were when we lived together before.I guess I simply got used to the noise and light before, but couldn’t give any tips on how. I suppose if noise is an issue for you, you could use ear plugs. Eye mask for lights. If he snores like a train you could have him try nose vents. (I’m a loud snorer and the nose vents did help, but I typically knocked them out in my sleep). If he grinds his teeth you could suggest a mouth guard, but they are hard to adjust to - at least for me. Since I like to cocoon in blankets, we have separate bed spreads we pull out at night so we both have covers.

Teens: What are your sleeping habits?

1. What position do you sleep in? On my back or on my side.

2. Do you fall asleep immediately? How long does it usually take? No, it depends on what time I go to bed though. If I try to go to sleep at like 11, I'll lie awake for hours, but if I go to bed a 4am, I'll fall asleep quite quickly

3. Do you have any unusual sleep requirements? I HAVE to be entirely covered up to my chin, or I just can't sleep. It's pretty uncomfy when it's hot, especially as I'm just moved to LA, so I tend to just have a sheet covering me. I also have to be on the right side of the bed.

4. When do you usually go to sleep? No usual. Ranges from midnight to 4ish, but as I said above, the earlier I go to bed, the longer it takes to get to sleep, so I probably get to sleep around 2.30ish most nights?

5. When do you usually wake up? 7.30. Then 8. Then 8.30. Then 9. Then 9.45. Then I get up. (I have a lot of alarms set, most of which I ignore) On a school day I had to get up earlier obviously

6. Do you sleep with music on? If yes, with headphones? with the radio? soundock for ipod? No, It's bad for you to sleep with music. You don't get proper sleep this way. (Taking psychology for the last couple years has actually been quite useful haha)

7. How many blankets are on your bed? One

8. How many pillows do you use? Three when sitting up reading or something. Then two when I sleep, although my mom goes on about how bad it is for your neck, but I can't sleep with only one.

I have a weird sleeping schedule?

Ever since last summer, over a year ago, I got into the habit of staying up all night watching movies, etc. It went on ALL summer until I started my 1st year of college. I was able to get back into the groove of things. However, I found myself taking nap after nap almost every day during the week. I've never taken a nap in my life. Anyways, summer came around again and I started doing the exact same thing! It's still going on too.. luckily I scheduled late classes this year.

The weird thing is, I don't mind it. I've had trouble sleeping all my life. I will literally lay in bed for at least 3 hours till I fall asleep. However, with this schedule where I sleep from 7am-4pm... I actually feel good. A HUGE HUGE thing I like about it is, which is kind of funny, within 10 minutes of laying down, I'm asleep. It's actually quite amazing. It irritated me for years and years. Also, it's not like I'm making myself stay up. I eat breakfast and go to bed around 7 am and I'm not extremely tired, but my body says.. time for bed. You know, how everyone has their routine time of going to bed, even if they aren't tired. I know I can't live like this forever, but my main question is...

Why is it so easy for me to fall asleep and why do I feel so refreshed from this weird pattern? And why is it that when I do have a day where I go to bed early my sleeping schedule continues to just kick me back into this night owl? It has nothing to do w/ TV, etc like people think. I end up just laying down for hours if i turn everything off.
