Is National American Miss a scam?
National American Miss is a wonderful event. My daughter has been in it a couple of times and LOVES it. I do have to agree, the first person who posted an answer gave some answers that are really just stereotypes about pageants in general. It is clear that she has not been to NAM. That's ok. There are actually pageants like what she is talking about, for sure. But this one is not like that at all. With that out of the way, the simplest thing to say is that NAM is not a typical beauty pageant, in fact, it is not a beauty-based pageant at all. It is a new concept. Oh, and yes, of course, there are fees to be in it. Any real pageant, sport, dance class, or other event does indeed have fees. You should be wary of any actual event that claims it is "free." My daughter talked me into going to the Open Call a few years ago. Glad she did. This all turned out to be a wonderful thing for her, and I am thankful for it as a parent. The open call is just an information session where the organization tells you what NAM is about, and if you want you can apply at that time. We were there about an hour. A great thing to do is to go online to youtube, search for "National American Miss" and see the videos that real world participants have uploaded to share their own personal journey at NAM. I have pasted links to some of those, as well as other information sources, for you below. There is a large community of people out there who have participated in NAM and you can see what the actual conversations are about by looking at the Facebook and blog communiites. I put those links below. Here's another great way to do your homework on this. The Better Business Bureau (which I checked when my daughter wanted to be in NAM and I saw that the BBB gives National American Miss an "A" rating) suggests when you are checking out a pageant, you should call the facility where the event is being held and ask if it is actually contracted there. So, one of the links below is to a page that has all of the National American Miss events listed by state, including the actual address of the facility where the event is being held. Who should win America's Got Talent?
I don't think Jackie Evancho should win. she has more important things than to headline a vegas show. she's a child, she should be enjoying her childhood(and going to school) and not performing in vegas. you can only be a child once, and if she gives that up to perform, something she has her whole life for, i bet she will regret it later. and anyways, people get caught up in the spectacle of her, she's almost equal in talent to poppycock, but is nowhere near the showman he is. micheal grimm is great but would be better served in a singing career instead of vegas. poppycock and fighting gravity i think are the only two real options. they both have a great act and they can continue to show incredible variety and new elements in both. poppycock in particular is almost limitless in the amount of different shows he can put on. fighting gravity's only limitation is their imagination, that type of act can really do anything. btw i'm guessing this 10 year old clip is the inspiration behind fighting gravity: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWWb1p7Zl... who do you think should win AGT?

Both fought brilliantly at times (Patton’s problem, I believe is that he had a traumatic brain injury in the years leading up to the war, his vulgarity is a trait of most true fighters, but he wasn’t able to indulge in it just in private; Monty would crawl through the desert for a news camera), both had less than stellar moments in the PR war.A big factor in our eventual triumph was the breaking of the enigma code, due to the herculean efforts of Polish, and British mathematicians (and women too!).Britain had seven lean years after the war. The USA had seven years of fat. During the cold war (anything but cold),I flew with the RAF in the British sector of West Germany. They were cheering for Cain before THAT. A Man who actually SAID, the country needs a Leader not a reader. Which he stole from the SIMPSONS Movie......and in fact, was a joke, because the moron president in that movie, made decisions WITHOUT reading anything , with disasterous results of course. This is what he wanted to emulate........a total moron! And they CHEERED this! They cheer Bachmann.......who believe she can "cure" Gay, thru Prayer! I mean, you might as well run Daffy Duck while you're at it, too! Why Not? They screamed for Clinton's impeachment, but are shining Newt's Halo.----then they bee-yatch about Ted Kennedy in the same breath. Bahhhhhhhhh.
How long can Trump realistically remain president of the US?
I think he’s probably going to have his 4 years and then get trounced in 2020.In 2020, many of his strongest supporters in 2016 won’t be excited about him anymore and will stay home. Many of them are people who rarely vote anyway. Trump will still get people who normally vote R, no matter how much they dislike him, because to them any D is worse. But without those vast hordes of people who usually don’t vote but who were so excited about Trump in 2016 that they voted for the first time in decades, Trump will have fewer voters.And, many of the left-leaning voters who didn’t vote for Hillary because they weren’t excited about her and assumed she would win, will be out in force making sure whatever Dem is running against Trump is elected. That will include:People who voted for third-party left-leaning candidates in 2016. Protest voters for whom Hillary wasn’t liberal enough.People who withheld their vote for Hillary because they loved Bernie.People who withheld their vote from Hillary because she wasn’t black.People who withheld their vote from Hillary because she wasn’t all sweetness and light and angelic purity. Think email server and her lack of charisma.These people regret not voting for Hillary, and will be out in force voting for whatever Dem runs against Trump.Also, the director of the FBI probably won’t announce a renewed investigation against that candidate three weeks before the election, cratering their support with no time for recovery.What about impeachment before that? I think it’s looking unlikely that Trump is going to do something bad enough that Republicans will impeach him.But what about Dems impeaching him after the 2018 midterms? Although Dems will almost certainly gain some power in the 2018 midterms, I don’t think it’s clear that they will gain control. And even if they do, I don’t think it’s clear that they will have enough of a margin to prevent Republicans from buying off one or two votes to prevent impeachment.If the Dems do gain power in the 2018 midterms, it won’t surprise me if they make a lot of noise about impeachment proceedings during the 2020 election year, to make Trump look bad, even if they don’t expect to be able to actually impeach him.
